About the team: Algorithm and Machine Learning team is responsible for the core linear optimization algorithms and predictive machine learning models to help the advertising clients plan the ad campaigns and maximize the yield. About the role: Responsible for planning and designing new machine learning software, and improving existing algorithms or machine learning models. Implements, analyzes, tests and deploys the new features, new algorithms, or new components. Performs integration with other engineering teams. Provides production support of the components that the team owns. Documents all development activity. Communicates with engineering, product, and client services teams. Assists with training non-technical personnel. Has in-depth experience, knowledge and skills in own discipline. Able to manage own time across multiple parallel projects. Acts as a resource for colleagues with less experience.

Job Description

Required Skills:

  • Python, Git, AWS, solid understanding of machine learning theories, and hands-on experience with applied machine learning.

Preferred skills:

  • reinforcement learning, linear and non-linear optimization, Spark
     

Core Responsibilities

  • Collaborates with project stakeholders to understand end-to-end product, and identify product and technical requirements. Conducts analysis to determine technical approach.
  • Designs, prototypes, and conduct data analysis and model research.
  • Implements new ML models, and improves existing algorithms or models. Develops or improve related components that interact with the ML models or other algorithms as a part of entire end-to-end system.
  • Writes tests and deploys the models or component.
  • Provides technical reviews and code review feedback.
  • Researches, writes and edits documentation and technical requirements, including technical designs, test designs, evaluation reports, operational runbooks.
  • Monitors and evaluates production algorithms and models, and provides production supports.
  • Serves as a guide and mentor for junior members on the team.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
  • Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, process design and redesign skills. Presents and defends architectural, design and technical choices to internal audiences.
  • Displays knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Able to work early morning or at night when collaboration with colleagues in other time zones is necessary.
  • Must be able to respond to urgent production issues at night or on weekends when on-call.
