Job Summary
The dx Team is building the core components needed to drive the next generation of data platforms and data processing capability at Comcast. Building data products, identifying trouble spots, and optimizing the overall user experience is a challenge that can only be met with a robust architecture capable of providing insights that would otherwise be drowned in an ocean of data. In order to provide access to data in Comcast’s platforms and simplify the barrier to entry for Big Data capabilities, dx is building an enterprise self-service Portal based on open-source and commercial web portal, microservice, and content hosting technologies.
Job Description
The DevOps Manager will be responsible for leading a team of Software Development Engineers in the planning and designing of software and web applications. Lead projects from design to testing, including new programs, enhancements and modifications. Collaborate with Quality Assurance team to conduct testing. Has overall responsibility for developing/administering performance standards for organizational unit. Manages team which may include exempt and non-exempt employees. Provides subject matter guidance to employees as required. Develops processes and procedures to drive department efficiencies and assists in the development and meeting of departmental budget.
This role is best suited to a people leader with a technical background and success in this role is best enabled by a broad mix of skills and interests ranging from traditional distributed systems software engineering prowess to the multidisciplinary field of data science.
