FreeWheel, A Comcast Company is currently seeking a Senior Business Intelligence Analyst to join our Data Science Team. This individual will be responsible for supporting efforts related to data visualization, reporting, and business analytics. This individual will work very closely with engineering, client services and product management staff to support data visualization and reporting needs. This individual will also work closely to support ongoing data science efforts and future development of advanced reporting offerings.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

  • Understand product offerings and work with clients (internal and external) to understand their reporting needs
  • Understand back-end data structures & data flows, and define database requirements for report development
  • Develop analytical reports using BI tools such as Tableau and Looker
  • Create and maintain various reporting dashboards for internal and external purposes
  • Write SQL/LookML scripts to extract data into the BI platforms
  • Leverage SQL and Python to manipulate data as needed for data visualizations
  • Streamline reporting needs and automate client reporting by connecting back-end databases to various BI tools
  • Administer BI platform to ensure system reliability and usage across user base (assign/modify permissions, create structure, set up report refresh priorities etc.)
  • Administer staging and live environments to ensure delivery of reliable and quality assured reports

Desired Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Computer Science, Business Intelligence, Data Analytics, Engineering, Mathematics, or Database Technologies
  •  At-least 3+ years of experience understanding and querying databases/storage services (such as MS SQL, PostgreSQL, Amazon Athena), SQL development, data integration and analysis
  • Experience with Looker, Tableau and/or other BI tools & proficiency in Excel
  • Experience with Python scripting for data manipulation
  • Experience with or eagerness to learn cloud and big data technologies such as AWS and Databricks
  • Ability to collaborate with both technical and business users
  • Attention to detail and ensure accuracy of data being used in reporting and visualizations
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work creatively in problem solving environment
