Job Description

The Engineer will join our Service Reliability Engineering team which is part of CXT Big Data Service and Operations. Our department builds reliability into the platforms and applications that move, process and store huge amounts of data both on-prem and in cloud infrastructures. We identify automation and resiliency opportunities and drive our development teams to integrate these solutions. Our results are measured by the reliability of our Big Data platforms and the ability of our applications to consistently meet their SLAs. Our team members are located in the Philadelphia area, West Chester PA, Denver CO, Silicon Valley as well as a large offshore team in India.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities

• Analyzes and confirms the integration needs.
• Evaluates and plans software designs, test results and technical manuals.
• Reviews literature, patents and current practices relevant to the solution of assigned projects.
• Programs new software, web applications and supports new applications under development and the customization of current applications.
• Edits and reviews technical requirements' documentation.
• Works with Quality Assurance team to decide if applications fit specification and technical requirements.
• Displays knowledge of engineering methodologies, concepts, skills and their application in the area of specified engineering specialty.
• Ability to implement process design and redesign skills.
• Displays in-depth knowledge of and ability to apply, project management skills.
• Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
• Regular, consistent and punctual attendance
• Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science and 3-5 years’ experience in the following areas:
• Tools: Git, GitHub Enterprise, UC4, Control M (Scheduling Tool), Linux OS, Oracle, Atlassian Jira, Confluence, SharePoint
• Technology Programming language: Python, Ansible, Java, C#, SQL, Shell Scripting,
• Web Development: (HTML/CSS/PHP, ASP.NET etc.)
• Frameworks & Methodologies: AWS, CI/CD, Agile Software Development Methodology, Big Data Ecosystem (Cloudera), Data warehousing Concepts along with ETL development (Informatica)

• Ability to work in a cooperative environment, strong interpersonal communication skills, proven track record of speaking and addressing all levels of management
