Job Description

In this executive leadership opportunity, you will partner cross-functionally to identify opportunities to conceive and develop advanced analytics/AI solutions to drive business impact and influence strategy. This highly visible role will be a data science and engineering thought leader and key executive partner in the organization. With a bias for action, you will translate business questions into solvable data science problems grounded in business context. To do so, you will marry business acumen with technical prowess to identify and utilize appropriate methodologies with a disciplined end-to-end delivery that is evaluated based on business impact and shared objectives. You will influence positive improvements across organizational boundaries through clear and compelling communication. As a member of the EBI Senior Leadership Team, collaboration and strategic thinking is critical. This leader and their team partners with three primary groups: internally with peers in EBI, cross-functionally with business and technology, as well as external vendors. You will set the direction and tone of the Data Science organization. This people leader will hire, retain and scale a diverse, geographically dispersed, high-performing team of data scientists and engineers. As the team leader, you will promote team morale and excitement with a positive attitude by conveying an exciting purpose and impact for the Data Science team.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Own the strategy and prioritization of data science projects that drive business impact.
  • Identify the most critical company initiatives to engage in and pinpoint untapped opportunities
  • Be proactive by asking questions, ensuring that the right questions are being answered with appropriate level of rigor that lead to clear and actionable recommendations
  • Generate scalable solutions in partnership with various functional teams to deliver the optimal business value grounded in sound methodologies that predict outcomes and prescribe actions
  • Oversee and lead multiple projects in a fast-paced environment adapting to shifting priorities
  • Continue to drive the Comcast culture towards automated decisioning that delivers incremental business value
  • Become a trusted partner to marketing, product, sales, operations, customer experience, and channel leadership by creating value through practical applications of data science
  • Fortify organizational processes and structure for scale, and help set the vision of data science team and applications within the organization while partnering cross-functionally
  • Partner with other technical leaders to drive innovation and provide operational leadership
  • Lead a team that designs and executes all Data Science projects to deliver business value across all Comcast goals around Sales/Marketing, Product as well as the Employee and Customer Experience
  • Motivate, coach and develop a team of ~30 employees and contractors
  • Inspire them to learn the business, unlock the business value and build partnerships across teams by defining compelling, shared objectives

Professional Experience & Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in supervised and unsupervised machine learning, modeling and algorithms with a strong focus rapid prototyping in agile development environments that can scale to solve business problems
  • The technical depth to guide a team of AI/ML experts in applying the most appropriate techniques with a preference for driving business impact over technical amazement
  • Exceptional ability to synthesize and simplify the natural complexity of AI/ML so that recommendations can drive business buy-in and action
  • Outstanding executive presence with strong communication and storytelling skills through presentations and communications to small and large audiences at the senior executive level
  • Highly curious, with an ability to proactively determine the unspoken questions/problems and craft a plan to answer the larger issue at hand or foreseen.

Education Level

  • Bachelor's Degree or Equivalent, Advanced degree preferred

Field of Study

  • Computer Science, Statistics, Math, Business or related field of study

Years Experience

  • Requires a minimum of 15 years related experience
