JOB DESCRIPTION

Job Summary

Responsible for establishing and leading the data science and reporting infrastructure team that supports Cable Fraud Risk Management. Leveraging your leadership skills and desire to innovate, you will play an integral role in managing fraud risks to the cable business and accelerating Comcast’s growth. This role will be responsible for (i) identifying and utilizing internal and external data sources to design, build and maintain custom models (in accordance with acceptable fraud modeling standards, principles, and best practices) that support buy flow decisioning strategies, (ii) efforts related to machine learning, optimization methods, and statistical model building, (iii) the design, build, automation and maintenance of operational, performance, ad hoc and executive reporting for the FRM teams and key stakeholders, and (iv) providing input into fraud prevention and detection strategies, analysis methods and tool selection. Defines and implements the overall business intelligence program goals and tasks in terms of scope, quality, budget, and schedule. Provides leadership, direction, and mentorship for team members. Develops and implements strategy for functional area(s). May have responsibility for developing and managing budget.

Core Responsibilities

  • Play a leadership role in the establishment of the Fraud and Intelligence and Reporting team and aligning team priorities to the overall strategic priorities of the FRM organization.
  • Define the information, reporting and analytical needs of the organization. Develops goals, strategies and plans needed to achieve the vision.
  • Develop and communicate goals, strategies, tactics, project plans, timelines, and key performance metrics to reach goals.
  • Implement and maintain real-time fraud prevention solutions leveraging statistical and predictive risk models and machine learning methods; Build forecasting methods; Apply optimization methods.
  • Responsible for all business intelligence analysis and data exploitation. Extracts signals and signatures from raw data, integrates that information with other data sources and compiles/disseminates formatted reports to stakeholders.
  • Create and manage supporting and related business intelligence processes.
  • Partner with appropriate stakeholders to gain access to internal and external data sources to enhance modeling, decisioning, and reporting capabilities.
  • Build and maintain advanced analytics, dashboards, and reporting based on user requirements to identify key data questions, monitor KPIs, and conduct exploratory analyses.
  • Work collaboratively with other team members and data stakeholders to execute analytical and reporting initiatives.
  • Apply advanced data visualization techniques to provide key insights to strategy performance and fraud events/risks.
  • Recommends improvements to fraud strategies based on data insight and KPI performance.
  • Research and apply new technologies and analytical methods.
  • Work independently and as part of a broader team across multiple projects.
  • Develops and mentors others within the organization in using key analytical and forecasting tools, statistical analysis, and data reporting methods.
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Develops and manages budget to ensure required resources are available.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Preferred Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in a technical field such as Data Science, Computer Science, Engineering, Business Analytics, Mathematics, Statistics, or Operations Research; Master’s degree or PhD a plus
  • In-depth knowledge of fraud principles, processes, procedures and trends of fraud and fraud prevention
  • Extensive experience with Python, SQL, R, and analytical model implementation is required
  • Experience with Optimization Models such as Linear and Nonlinear Programming is required
  • Skilled at data mangling and manipulation
  • Experience with management reporting and trend analysis
  • Experience with data visualization tools, automation, and programming packages
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills; ability to work creatively in problem solving environment
  • Proven ability to deliver on complex projects within deadlines
  • Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience
  • Strong organizational, interpersonal, leadership, team building, decision-making, conflict resolution and negotiation skills
  • Ability to manage multiple tasks, maintain confidentiality and listen to ideas and understand information presented verbally or in writing
