Program Overview:?

?The Comcast Center Internship Program (CCIP) is an 11-week summer internship program based at our Philadelphia Headquarter location. The program is designed to identify high-caliber talent to build our organization with the best and the brightest students who come from a variety of sourcing channels, including on-campus career fairs, partner organizations, and direct applications. In this role you will immerse yourself into the Comcast culture, working side by side with innovative and talentedComcasters. You will cultivate meaningful relationships and develop strong interpersonal and business skills that will set you apart from your peers. Additionally, your experience will include: Engagement: Working on creative, innovative, and thought-provoking projects within various business units at Comcast during your internship experience. Exposure: An inside look into the day-to-day operations of an organization at the cutting edge of media and technology. Professional Development: Exposure to a variety of professional development topics facilitated through our partners at Comcast University and senior leaders within the organization. These sessions include speaker series, skill-building workshops, and networking opportunities. Job Description

Position Summary: 

The team’s focus is uniform access and complete transparency for Comcast data assets to enable informed business decisions that drive profitable growth.?Manage the complete project lifecycle for new data integration, data integrity and data standardization centered on single source of truth. 

Core Responsibilities:? 

• Data Discovery, data profiling and testing within the Big Data domain using both structure and unstructured data 
• Perform Data analysis of business use cases in coordination with Analytics and Data Science team.
• Assist in user acceptance testing for stewardship owned projects 
• Support data maturity efforts (documentation, profiling, data dictionary) for Universally owned data objects. 

Required Skills and Experience: 

• Currently enrolled and pursuing a?BS/MS degree in Computer Science from a United States-based college or university. 
• Ability to analyze data and work independently 
• Ability to work on structured, semi structured data sets. 

Technical Skills: 

• SQL is required. Hands on experience with Hive, data loading tools like Sqoop, Gobblin is a plus. 
• Good understanding with Hadoop, HBase, Hive, Pig and Hbase. 
• Hands on Experience on Hortonworks/Cloudera is a plus. 
• Good understanding of different RDBMS and database concepts, Streaming data, data flow processes are required. 
• Good knowledge of database structures, theories, principles, and practices.? 
• Analytical and problem-solving skills, applied to Big data domain is required. 
• Knowledge or prior experience of data ingestion between Big data and other RDBMS platforms is a plus. 
• Ability to write?Hadoop Map Reduce (java code) is a plus 
• Knowledge in back-end programming, specifically java, JS, Node.js and OOAD is a plus. 
• AWS, Databricks – a big plus? 
• Python – a big plus 
• Teradata – a plus 

Compensation

Base Pay: $32.00

Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Comcast provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a Commission under the terms of an applicable plan, while most non-sales positions are eligible for a Bonus.
