Job Summary

FreeWheel, A Comcast Company, is currently seeking a Data Scientist to join our Trust and Standards team.

Job Description

The Trust and Standards team works to make FreeWheel the most trusted company in the video ecosystem by ensuring we adhere to the highest standards for brand safety, privacy, standards, compliance, and quality. This team works with the business to: proactively ensure mature, best in class processes that protect and support our customers businesses; enable addressable advertising while respecting viewer privacy and legal requirements; and ensure that the inventory in our marketplace meets our standards for quality, brand safety, and trust. The team is a partner with the business rather than being simply a compliance or legal function.

This role will be responsible for supporting product development efforts related to invalid-traffic-detection models, market-manipulation detection, machine learning, real-time anomaly detection methods, and statistical model building. This role will work very closely with marketplace engineering and product management staff to support the development of innovative approaches to the next generation of ad-tech products and the development of business intelligence systems.

Position Responsibilities

-Implement?ad tech?solutions?leveraging?statistical?models?and machine learning methods?to support the Trust and Standards team.

-Identify?key data questions and?conduct exploratory?analyses?.

-Effectively?leverage?key functionality?in AWS and Spark-based?technologies?.

-Research and apply new technologies and analytical methods, particularly in the area of invalid traffic detection (IVT) and fraud prevention.

-Develop real-time traffic anomaly detection systems.????

-Apply advanced data?visualization?to provide key insights.

-Workindependently and as part of a broader team across multiple projects.

-Present initiatives and key findings to business stakeholders.

-Support annual MRC and TAG audits.

Desired Skills and Experience

-Bachelor’s degree in?a technical field such as?Data Science,?Computer Science,?Engineering,?Business Analytics,? Mathematics,?Statistics, or Operations Research.

-Master’s?or PhD a plus.

-At least?3?of experience?with?Python, SQL, and analytical model implementation.

-Skilled at data mangling and manipulation.

-Experience with data visualization?tools and programming packages.

-Strong analytical and?problem-solving?skills; ability to work creatively in problem solving environment?. 

-Experience using AWS or other cloud-based platforms.

-Proven ability to deliver on complex projects within deadlines.

-Ability to communicate technical concepts to a non-technical audience.

-Strong interest in advertising technology. 

-Experience in developing invalid traffic detection systems a big plus.
