Job Summary

Nexus is a world-class decision engine that drives optimal Customer Experiences through Next Best Action, Personalization, and Omni-Channel capabilities. Backed by Artificial Intelligence, Nexus is constantly optimizing while flexing to meet changing customer and business needs. The Quality Assurance Manager will be responsible for leading up and staffing a QA team, while establishing the quality assurance function for Nexus, our internally built decisioning platform. This is a leadership role and responsibilities include the creation, preparation and conduct of a quality assurance process as well as the overseeing of development and execution of test plans and test scripts. The candidate will work with stakeholders and teammates to establish and maintain a consistent test methodology for the program. Establishing an automated test process whenever possible is key to the role. The candidate will plan and direct all quality assurance schedules and assignments to ensure the decisioning platform is operating within an established set of quality standards, as well as reporting status to upper management. Scope of QA responsibilities will cover Nexus project work, Business As Usual (BAU) tasks, as well as supporting QA for our analytics team. Responsibilities involve setting up the QA process, not just following a pre-set process. The QA team will be a combination of on-shore and off-shore individuals.

Job Description

Core Responsibilities:

  • Provide an overall framework and vision for a scalable QA process
  • Sets the standards for the QA function including testing script standards, automation & results documentation
  • Oversee the direction and development of quality assurance and testing policies, standards and procedures, processes, and best practices
  • Responsible for Integration, End-To-End, Production Validation, and Regression testing
  • Work directly with program stakeholders to determine the appropriate quality initiatives to implement throughout the System Development Life Cycle
  • Work within quality assurance frameworks to ensure stability, efficiency, and scalability
  • Lead a team of QA analysts both on-shore and off-shore
  • Make recommendations on the improvement of QA processes and practices and where appropriate help to establish these and implement where agreed
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with product owners, engineering, data science, and performance analytics
  • Where appropriate review and approve QA plans and solution proposals ensuring alignment with standards
  • Plan and manage the evaluation of software processes; Identifies, proposes, and initiates software process improvement activities within the organization, devising solutions; take action to exploit opportunities that will have a measurable effect on operational effectiveness, with associated benefits to the business
  • Set the quality strategy for approval and adoption by business management; measure the extent to which the quality policy meets the organization’s needs and objectives and review it as necessary; plan, resources—either directly or indirectly—and monitors the internal quality audit schedule; define and review quality and environment systems
  • Consistent exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of significance.
  • Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be able to work in variable schedule(s) as necessary.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
  • 7+ years of experience in quality assurance / quality management roles
  • Ability to oversee multiple projects
  • Knowledge of Quality Management techniques
  • Working experience with unit testing, integration testing, system testing, end-to-end testing, regression testing, and User Acceptance Testing
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Knowledge of quality assurance testing, tooling and associated programming languages
  • Good interpersonal, communication and organizational skills
  • Motivated by delivery
  • The ability to work and collaborate effectively with stakeholders and teammates across multiple organizations
  • Flexibility to adjust to multiple demands, shifting priorities, ambiguity and rapid change
  • Ability to deal efficiently with escalations and difficult situations under pressure
  • Knowledge of Agile 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience leading teams of quality assurance engineers / testers
  • Experience in QA roles within a decisioning or campaign platform / program such as Pegasystems CDH, Unica Campaign/Interact, Adobe Campaign, or Salesforce Marketing Cloud.
