Human and AI Systems Research (HAR) is a group in Intel Labs that is focused on multi-disciplinary UX-driven research in Human/AI Interaction and Collaboration. HAR research is cross disciplinary spanning research in Multimodal sense-making (e.g. Vision, Audio, Speech and Language, RF), Dialogue systems, and Ambient Computing technologies. Work in these fields is applied to specific usages and applications, leveraging extensive UX research that we conduct.

HAR is looking for an intern with data science background, who can help with our research related to Human/AI collaboration in various vertical domains, from education to enterprise and manufacturing.

In this position, you will be expected to apply your knowledge of data science and fundamental computer science techniques to define data collection experiments in realistic settings, data annotation and ML experiments to validate research hypothesis.

We are a team of multi-disciplinary researchers and this work will enable us to develop/validate affective models accordingly in different use cases.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience would be obtained through a combination of prior education level classes, and current level school classes, projects, research, and relevant previous job and/or internship experience.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Currently enrolled in an undergraduate program in Computer Science, Data Science, or any related field
• 1+ year experience with programming languages such as Python, Java, Matlab, R
• 6+ months experience with data structures and algorithms

Preferred Qualifications:

• 6+ months experience with data science libraries such as pandas, numpy
• 6+ months experience with ML techniques and usage of libraries such as Scikit-learn, Matlab ML toolboxes
• 6+ months experience with visualization tools and libraries, such as matplotlib
