Come join Intel’s NAND Design Technology and Manufacturing (NDTM) Group as a Product Development Engineer and work on one of the most advanced 3DNAND and SSD technology portfolios in the world. As a global leader in the semiconductor industry, Intel possesses many industries leading SSD technologies including the most capable Quadruple Level Cell QLC NAND Flash products.

Intel NDTM team is looking for a Data Scientist who uses predictive modeling, statistics, Machine Learning, Data Mining, and other data analysis techniques to collect, explore, and extract insights from structure and unstructured data. Ready to develop software, algorithms, and applications to apply mathematics to data, perform large scale experimentation and build data driven apps to translate data into intelligence, solve a variety of business problems and enable business strategy. Assists business with casual inferences and observations with finding patterns, relationships in data.

The ideal candidate must possess strong understanding of internal business segment (stakeholders) and possess strong written and communication skills. Typically requires expertise in relational database structures, research methods, machine learning, Cloud based technologies, Big Data technologies (i.e., Hadoop, HBase, Spark, Kafka, Impala, Kudu, Druid, Flink, NiFi), analytics packages (i.e., R, Matlab, Pandas, scikit-learn), scripting languages (i.e., Python, Perl), and programing languages (i.e., Plotly Dash, PHP, C/C++, SQL). Typically possesses advanced degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Machine Learning, Operation Research, and Statistics or equivalent expertise.

  • Job responsibilities will involve researching and building data driven prototypes using machine learning algorithms for prediction systems and applications performing large scale experimentation translating data into intelligence, solving a variety of business problems, and enabling business strategy. Assist business with casual inferences and observations with finding patterns and relationships in data.
  • The position is associated with the sale of the NAND business to SK Hynix aligning to Phase 2 of the transaction. Employees aligned to Phase 2 will continue to be employed by Intel developing NAND technology and components. Phase 2 of the transaction is expected to close in March 2025 at which time employees aligned to this phase of the transaction will transition employment to Solidigm, a stand-alone US subsidiary of SK Hynix headquartered in San Jose, California with offices world-wide. Solidigm is a leading global supplier of NAND flash memory solutions, led by Robert (Rob) B. Crooke as CEO, previously senior vice president and general manager of Intel’s Non-Volatile Memory Solutions Group. Qualifications

  • You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a Master's degree in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 2+ years of experience in the following areas:
  • Fab Manufacturing and deploying Analytics solutions to improving wafer yield, avoiding excursions, and improving productivity
  • Statistical computer languages (R, Python, SQL) to manipulate data and draw insights from large data sets
  • Design and development of data products using selected tools and frameworks
  • Cloud based technologies, analytics packages (i.e., R, Mahout, Matlab, Octave, Weka)
  • Machine learning libraries, and experience with data science visualization tools (matplotlib, ggplot, d3.js, Tableau).

Preferred Qualifications

  • The candidate must have a PhD in Operations Research, Industrial Engineering, Manufacturing, Computer Science, or related field.

1+ years of experience in the following areas:

  • Machine learning techniques (clustering, decision tree learning, artificial neural networks) and their real-world advantages/drawbacks
  • Advanced statistical techniques and concepts (regression, properties of distributions, statistical tests, and proper usage) and its applications
