Job Description

This position is part of the Data, Analytics, and Reporting Center of Excellence (DARC) within Finance. DARC owns the Single Source of Truth (SSOT) for financial data, creates and enables descriptive analytics based on that data, and creates and maintains global finance AI/ML solutions.

This data scientist will be part of the central team responsible for creation and maintenance of global finance AI/ML solutions. They will have responsibilities across all stages of the AI/ML process from ideation to deployment to maintenance and monitoring. This person must maintain a strong partnership with finance SMEs to clarify problem statements and opportunities, then expertly determine the feasibility of an AI/ML solution. They must maintain strong partnerships across the DARC team for partnership on data and reporting opportunities. They must also be able to expertly work with IT partners to appropriately deliver enterprise-ready solutions.

The primary responsibilities for this role will include, but are not limited to:

• Works with Finance SMEs to develop algorithms and applications, perform large scale experimentation, build data driven apps to translate data into intelligence, and develop solutions for solving business problems using coding.

• Incorporates predictive modeling, statistics, and other analysis techniques for collecting, exploring, interpreting, and extracting insights from structured and unstructured data.

• Organizes, interprets, and structures insights from data, detects data anomalies and makes corrections.

• Supports troubleshooting service offerings using proprietary analytical platforms, commercial tools, and custom scripts.

• Drives the design, development and optimization of artificial intelligence/machine learning, deep learning training and inference frameworks, contributes to the research and development of data science activities and supports product development efforts as required.

• Develops and programs methods, processes, and systems to consolidate and analyze diverse big data sources, establishing standard methodologies for data science including modeling, coding, analytics, and experimentation.

• Explores, compiles, and collects data from new or known sources, sometimes in partnership with technical staff/engineers to derive useful insights and/or make predictions.

• Works with development teams and business units to ensure models are scalable and can be implemented as part of the delivered solution across clients.

A successful candidate will have proven experience demonstrating the following skills and behavioral traits:

• Committed to Intel's disciplined execution standards.

• Demonstrated project management skills and experience using Azure DevOps.

• Ability to integrate and coordinate multiple schedules to ensure timely completion of several independent projects.

• Clear understanding of and experience with Machine Learning Operations.

• Excellent written and verbal communication, including the ability to adjust a technical message to a non-technical audience and communicate in different levels of detail for different levels of seniority.

• Comfortable consulting with senior management and making decisions that impact team members and stakeholders.

• Can independently develop and implement practical solutions to a wide range of complex problems.

Qualifications

You must possess the below minimum qualifications to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Minimum Qualifications:

• 4+ years of experience on finance business processes - especially revenue, spending, inventory, or competitive benchmarking.
• 2+ years of experience with all phases of creating AI/ML solutions, including project exploration, data cleaning, building, measuring, learning, model management, deployment, complimentary asset development and monitoring/support.
• Intermediate to Advanced English proficiency (both verbal and written)
• Must have unrestricted - permanent right to work in Costa Rica.

Preferred Qualifications:

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

• Experience with Intel's enterprise data governance goals and processes, including expectations for metadata compliance.

• Has an established network of partners across necessary stakeholders.

• Comfortable communicating with very large audiences on short timelines.

• Experience with SQL, Python, and AzureML.

• Machine learning operations.

Working Model

This role will be eligible for our hybrid work model which allows employees to split their time between working on-site at their assigned Intel site and off-site.

In certain circumstances the work model may change to accommodate business needs.
