INTERNSHIP OVERVIEW

Inmar’s 2024 Summer Internship Program offers a challenging, project-based opportunity for undergraduate and graduate students to enhance their understanding of the business world through valuable, hands-on experience. The internship will provide broad learning, experience, organizational knowledge, and business acumen.

The 10-week summer internship program is designed to challenge students by providing opportunities for hands-on experiences, skills training, and valuable professional networking to assist students with identifying and building on their career interests. This role gains experience and an overall feel for the company and the retail, grocery, and healthcare industries by attending meetings, delivering presentations, exploring business-specific tasks, and working closely with cross-functional groups to better understand Inmar, Inmar’s clients, and Inmar’s role in business.

Managers and colleagues will work side by side with summer interns. The program includes a robust training and onboarding program followed by our ongoing speaker series, lunch-and-learns, and cohort engagement activities, as well as direct access to executive and senior leadership, mentors, and previous interns.

We ask that all applicants be current students in undergraduate or graduate school with the ability to commit to the entirety of the internship: June 3, 2024 - August 9, 2024.

Interns will be required to work onsite at our headquarters located in Winston-Salem, NC. A housing stipend may be provided.

SUMMARY

The Intern, Data Science will support Inmar’s application development or shared services efforts by working on cloud or mobile apps, or other components that interact with Inmar’s cutting edge platforms. The intern will be completing the analysis on data supporting product development for the three networks and conducting IT related work against the architecture to deliver the products to our clients. The intern will also employ best practices and continuous improvement to automate our development. Inmar’s networked solutions are developed and tested on our internal cloud platforms and deployed to production with popular cloud technologies including AWS, Parse and Azure. These positions will expose the Interns to multi-discipline software development teams and agile processes, providing them with a working knowledge of application development standards. The range of technologies available will include Hadoop, Python (Linux), Java, C# (.NET/Windows/Azure), node.js, MySQL, PostgreSQL, MSSQL and MongoDB.

MAJOR JOB RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Completing analysis on data supporting product development for the three networks
  • Conducting IT related work against the architecture to deliver products to our clients
  • Actively participate in Agile development projects
  • Perform support activities as they relate to application development
  • Special projects that support the development teams, such as preparing and implementing environments, reports and/or documentation to support development teams

EDUCATION / QUALIFICATIONS / EXPERIENCE

  • Ability to commute into our headquarters located in Winston-Salem, NC (a housing stipend may be provided).
  • Strong preference for Students going into their Junior or Senior year, with an Analytics and/or Computer Science or MIS focus and exposure to one or more of the following development tools (.Net, C#, VB .Net, ASP.net, Python, Java, SQL Server)
  • Experience with Hadoop Clusters a strong plus.
  • Strong collaboration and teamwork skills
  • Extensive understanding of the Internet and social media sites
  • Ability to work independently with confidence and a detail orientation
  • Strong skills in preparing reports and research results
