Job Description

Responsibilities may be quite diverse of a technical nature. U.S. experience and education requirements will vary significantly depending on the unique needs of the job. Job assignments are usually for the summer or for short periods during breaks from school.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, and a proven ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary setting, particularly with engineering or technical marketing colleagues

This is an internship position and compensation will be given accordingly.


Qualifications

You must possess the below requirements to be initially considered for this position. Preferred qualifications are in addition to the requirements and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates. Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences

Minimum Qualifications:
The candidate must be pursuing a Master’s degree or PhD degree in Anthropology, Sociology, Digital Humanities, Data Studies, Information Science, Communication, Science and Technology Studies, Computer Science or related discipline with an emphasis on sociotechnical systems research.

6+ months experience on below areas:

  • Prior academic or internship experience in ethnographic or mixed-methods research focusing on computing technology
  • Demonstrated experience in the design, planning and execution of social science research


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Prior research experience focused on artificial intelligence, including machine learning, deep learning, computer vision, natural language understanding, and similar technologies
  • Research experience at the intersection of biological science and computational technologies
  • Experience with critically-minded uses of computational methods, or comfort with foundational data skills and interest in learning computational approaches to document analysis
