Job Description

Assembly Test Technology Development ATTD is looking for a Defect Reduction Engineering Intern to join a team tasked with the objective of driving yield improvement for substrate packaging technologies. Successful candidate will be a member of the Substrate Packaging Technology Development (SPTD) Yield team responsible for tracking substrate manufacturing yield performance, defining yield roadmap and driving yield improvements activities for all Intel substrates. Candidate will work closely with the defect metrology team to consume the data generated by metrology tools. Candidate must quickly synthesize large volumes of data, apply statistical machine learning methods and draw meaningful conclusions to help direct the efforts of the SPTD organization. Successful candidate must develop solutions to problems utilizing formal education, statistics, machine learning knowledge and problem solving tools. As SPTD is a startup environment the candidate should have tolerance of ambiguity and flexibility with respect to job roles and working hours. Candidate should be capable of leveraging the core functions within the Yield department and work effectively across organizational boundaries. The candidate should be self-directed, influence others and have a proven track record of delivering results. This is an internship and compensation will be given accordingly based on candidate education level and internship duration.

Preferred qualifications are in addition to the minimum qualifications and are considered a plus factor in identifying top candidates.

Experience listed below would be obtained through a combination of your schoolwork and/or classes and/or research and/or relevant previous job and/or internship experiences.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Pursuing a Master’s Degree with 6+ months of experience or PhD with 1+ years of experience in either Electrical Engineering, Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, Chemistry, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
• Expertise in engineering analysis tools, data analysis and scripting methods in order to automate and train standard analytical tasks is required.

Preferred Qualifications:

Prior experience in any of the following fields:

• Data visualization including scripting and automation of standardized analyses and reports.
• Packaging, Assembly and Test process or other semiconductor processes. 
• Data systems and analytics big, data analysis, machine learning, JMP, SQL, MongoDB and Python.
