In Arm Central Technology - Systems group, we are seeking a dedicated and motivated individual to play a crucial role in defining and driving the architecture of hardware accelerators, as well as exploring system-level technologies to accelerate computer vision workloads. In this multi-disciplinary position, you will have the opportunity to work closely with world-class specialists and contribute to the advancement of our technology by utilising creative ideas!

Responsibilities:

As an Architect specialising in computer vision applications and hardware units, you will be responsible for a diverse range of tasks that involve both architectural/ micro-architectural design and system-level optimisations

Key responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Conducting in-depth analysis of technical papers to gain a comprehensive understanding of classical computer vision and machine learning algorithms from a computational perspective, in addition to investigating research papers on efficient system integration and hardware implementation of these algorithms.
  • Generating proposals for hardware optimisations and innovative functional units that facilitate the efficient execution of computer vision algorithms.
  • Developing hardware models, algorithmic models and functional models to provide quantitative data on power, performance and area cost of proposed hardware solution.
  • Effectively presenting technical findings and concepts, supported by appropriate collateral, in a clear and credible manner.

By fulfilling these responsibilities, you will play a vital role in driving the success of our IPs and contributing to the broader advancement of the field.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Electrical/Electronics Engineering, Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Expertise in computer vision, machine learning, artificial intelligence, and image/video processing as well as image and video compression algorithms and standards.
  • Strong knowledge of hardware processor design and architecture, including GPUs, DSPs, VPUs, and CV/ML/AI accelerators and Hands-on experience in RTL design using Verilog/System Verilog or VHDL
  • In-depth understanding of state-of-the-art heterogeneous compute SoC architectures for mobile devices
  • Knowledge of Arm architecture and its integration into heterogeneous compute platforms.
  • Excellent understanding of system-level design trade-offs including hardware vs. software partitioning and system performance optimisations.
  • Solid grasp of PPA trade-offs in hardware and system architecture design.
  • Proficiency in hardware modelling using SystemC or C++ and high level synthesis (HLS) tools
  • Strong scripting skills in Python, TCL, and Bash
  • Familiarity with EDA tools for ASIC design and implementation
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with multiple teams under ambitious schedules

“Nice To Have” Skills and Experience:

  • Experience with FPGA-based prototyping and emulation.
  • Understanding of camera systems and image sensors
  • Familiarity with software stacks and APIs associated with CV/ML/ISP/Graphics processor hardware
