Your impact

• Design, train and evaluate models. You will solve complex drug discovery problems by designing fit-for-purpose models and statistical data distributions for machine learning from our massive in-house datasets – over 13 petabytes of cell imaging data, to which s Add our growing chemical, transcriptomic, and proteomic datasets — and you'll train those models using our on-site NVIDIA A100 SuperPODs. You will work in collaboration with biologists, chemists, automation engineers, data engineers and other scientists to refine these models, your processes may generate more data, until your models lead to a productive solution and reliable.
• Create biological maps. You will play a vital role in fulfilling Recursion's mission to decode biology for the radical betterment of our lives by transforming our massive datasets into biological maps of human diseases, upon which the developers of drugs to rapidly and precisely develop optimized small molecule therapies targeting hundreds of diseases.
• Share your work. You will represent Recursion to the scientific community by presenting your work at leading conferences and publishing articles in prestigious scientific journals.

Your future team

As a member of the Montreal office, for Mila, you will join other machine learning scientists and engineers who design and apply state-of-the-art machine learning methods to solve complex drug discovery problems. You will work cross-functionally with the Recursion teams in Salt Lake City and Toronto to accomplish the Recursion mission. As a member of the Mila community, you will have the opportunity to participate in Mila events such as conferences and reading groups, and to collaborate with professors, postdocs and students in carrying out research projects. mutual interest and benefit.

The experience you will need

• PhD in computer science or related quantitative field, or equivalent practical experience.
• At least two years of hands-on experience applying modern machine learning methods to real-world problem solving.
• Experience applying machine learning and modern statistical methods to large datasets, and reasoning about results. Experience with microscopic or biomedical imaging data, chemical data or genomic data an asset. Working knowledge of the drug discovery process a strong asset .
• Extensive experience using modern technologies for machine learning acceleration (e.g. PyTorch, TensorFlow/Keras, Horovod, etc.)
