Job Description

At Harman DTS, we have a vibrant product, platforms and solutions team, with several award-winning products with a global client base. The products group is looking to recruit an AI/ML Solutions lead to accelerate build of market leading offerings, create new Intellectual Property and Client-centric solutions.

What is required for the role?

• 7+ years of experience in IT with focus on a strong founded experience in AI having led, driven and set up a AI practice coming from IT services or niche AI organizations
• 5+ years of relevant project experience in successfully launching, planning, and executing advanced data science projects.
• A master’s or PhD degree in computer science, data science, information systems, operations research, statistics, applied mathematics, or a related quantitative field [or equivalent work experience such as, economics, engineering and physics is required. Alternate experience and education in equivalent areas such as economics, engineering or physics, is acceptable.
• Experience in more than one area is strongly preferred.
• A specialization in text analytics, image recognition, graph analysis or other specialized ML techniques such as deep learning, etc., is required.
• DevOps/MLOps methods to the construction of ML and data science pipelines.
• Candidate should exhibit project experience in applying ML and data science to business functions
• Candidate should have demonstrated the ability to manage data science projects and diverseExperience and ability to create AI strategies & services, drive partnerships and scale existing capabilities from a technology, platform, and people standpoint
• Experience in working on proposals, presales activities, business development and overlooking delivery of projects in AI streams
• Built solutions with AI elements in any one or more domains – Industrial, Healthcare, Retail, Communication
• Be an accelerator to grow the practice through technologies, capabilities, and teams both organically as well as in-organically

What will the role do?

• Differentiated Growth
  • Ownership on growth of the COE
  • Define, differentiate & strategize new AI services/ offerings for customers while creating reference architecture assets
  • Devise and execute transformation strategy to Align to AI needs for inhouse products/platforms and strategize GTM
  • Identify data-driven/ML business opportunities
  • Collaborate across the business to understand IT and business constraints
  • Create data pipelines for more efficient and repeatable data science projects
  • Apply statistical analysis and visualization techniques to various data, such as hierarchical clustering, T-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE), principal components analysis (PCA), Machine Learning
  • Generate hypotheses about the underlying mechanics of the business process
  • Test hypotheses using various quantitative methods
  • Display drive and curiosity to understand the business process to its core
• Development, Tools
  • Experience of working across multiple deployment environments including [cloud, on-premises and hybrid], multiple operating systems and through containerization techniques such as [Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Elastic Container Service, and others]
  • Coding knowledge and experience in several languages: for example, R, Python/Jupyter, SAS, Java, Scala, C++, Excel, MATLAB, etc.
  • Experience with distributed data/computing tools: MapReduce, Hadoop, Hive, Kafka, also MySQL, and so on
  • Experience of working across multiple deployment environments including [cloud, on-premises and hybrid], multiple operating systems and through containerization techniques such as Docker, Kubernetes, AWS Elastic Container Service, and others.
  • Experience in one or more of the following commercial/open-source data discovery/analysis platforms: [RStudio, Spark, KNIME, RapidMiner, Alteryx, Dataiku, H2O, Microsoft AzureML, Amazon SageMaker, Google Cloud ML.
  • Expertise in solving [vision, text analytics, credit scoring, failure prediction, propensity to buy] problems is preferable.
  • Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques: generalized linear model (GLM)/regression, random forest, boosting, trees, text mining, hierarchical clustering, deep learning, convolutional neural network (CNN), recurrent neural network (RNN), T-distributed Stochastic Neighbor Embedding (t-SNE), graph analysis, etc.
