State Farm’s blend of humans and technology enables our Marketing department to build consumer-driven strategies, powered by innovative solutions from strategy to analytics. We span dozens of channels and hundreds of campaigns, to reach people wherever they are and engage with them in the manner of their choice.

We’re looking for a marketing technology expert to help document, develop, and innovate on our Ad/MarTech stack. A blend of homegrown, best-of-breed, and best-of-suite technology across dozens of channels enables our marketing strategies. To capitalize on emerging opportunities, we blend our stack with media agency capabilities. Insurance and financial services is a competitive space and, to surpass consumer expectations, we need to quickly adapt our tech while balancing efficiency, budget, and - most importantly - consumer privacy.

The emergence of clean rooms for data protection between not just technology companies but world-famous media brands creates both opportunities and challenges. You’ll help us develop, implement, and mature our clean room strategy while pushing key partners to build innovative solutions that meet State Farm’s needs.

As part of our digital marketing technology team you’ll work with experts on MarTech strategy, incremental attribution, audience-driven DSPs, identity management, everything programmatic, and State Farm innovations. We partner with premier media and creative agencies and you’ll both learn from and push them to keep up with cutting-edge consumer-first marketing strategy.

Responsibilities

  • Architects and evolves interoperable marketing technical solutions (“stacks”)
  • Identifies critical and emerging technologies to identify business trends, potential markets, understand competitive technology moves, and develop strategic plans to capitalize on the information
  • Demonstrates ability to interpret and communicate complex concepts to both technical and business audiences, including executive
  • Partners across the marketing technology division for both execution and architecture
  • Works across State Farm technology and marketing departments while coordinating with media agencies
  • Leverages project management skills to meet objectives within necessary timelines
  • Applies innovative technology approaches to solve business challenges
  • Builds collaborative working relationships across departments and vendors
  • Qualifications
  • Technical knowledge of advertising / marketing technology and how to match it to business use cases – not just “it’s shiny” but “does it meet our needs”
  • Industry knowledge of clean room capabilities and strategy, inclusive of audience, activation, privacy, and analytical options
  • Digital marketing experience, including both owned and paid media
  • Change management and communication expertise across multiple levels, including executive
  • Knowledge of Ad/MarTech activation concepts and technologies
  • Familiarity with buying, execution, and strategy across marketing channels and capabilities

Education

  • BA or BS in Marketing or Business with technology background or Computer Science / Information Technology with marketing background

Experience

  • 5+ years industry experience as Marketing technology analyst, 3+ years with related degree, 7+ years if lacking marketing background
  • Demonstrated results of developing strategic technology recommendations and their business impacts
  • Experience designing marketing technical solution architecture, with implementation experience in at least two areas
  • Industry knowledge of the online and offline media landscape, including experience working with media/creative agencies
  • Technical knowledge of digital advertising / marketing technology and marketing analytics
  • Successful vetting of both large- and small-scale marketing technology options
