Job Description

Takeda is seeking to grow our Cyber & Digital Trust (C&DT) team with brilliant and diverse leaders that have an extensive background in data science, architecture, machine learning, and deep learning, while also bringing an intellectual curiosity on how to best incorporate and utilize analytics and insights from our security and risk data engines across the Takeda ecosystem.

How you will contribute:

You will be responsible for leading the development of cutting-edge quantitative solutions to model, analyze, integrate, and secure the various, robust C&DT data sets, as well as from across many critical elements of Takeda’s digital footprint. This is a strategic position where you will be empowered to be creative, ambitious, and bold; to solve novel problems. You will not only provide leadership, guiding research, and applications of quantitative methods, but will also provide direct mentorship, support, guidance, oversight, and recruitment across multiple areas of Takeda’s value chain and core functions. This is an exciting role that will stretch your knowledge and curiosity, offering the opportunity to deepen your skills by incorporating cybersecurity & digital trust into analytics and insights modeling.

• Drive the application of rigorous data science across Takeda C&DT, including the design and implementation of Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning solution architectures, data management, model development, computational tools, and model deployment
• Design and develop analytics and insights models that enable C&DT to mine further value from our exponentially increasing security and risk data engines and aggregation/analytics platforms
• Identify opportunities to apply the latest advancements in Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence to build, test, and validate predictive models
• Create ethical algorithms to extract information from large, multiparametric data sets
• Deploy algorithms to production to identify actionable insights from large databases
• Design and manage the use of security neural networks
• Compare results from various methodologies and recommend best techniques to stakeholders
• Develop and embed automated processes for predictive model validation, deployment, and implementation
• Lead improvements in C&DT methodologies or initiatives to address capability gaps or increase efficiency
• Influence machine learning strategy for C&DT programs and projects; explore design options to assess efficiency and impact, and develop approaches to improve robustness and rigor
• Make impactful contributions to internal C&DT discussions on emerging machine learning methodologies
• Be a key leader in the planning and direction of projects/operations and effectively prioritize goals
• Lead discussions at peer review leveraging quantitative skills to positively influence decision making
• Effectively explain technical concepts at all levels in the organization, including with senior leaders/stakeholders
• Lead change management, operational readiness, and performance delivery for data science and analytics
• Represent Takeda externally to advance its reputation as a security-focused AI/ML leader in the Life Sciences/Pharmaceutical industry

Minimum Requirements/Qualifications:

• 10 years of experience delivering data science engineering, operations, or assurance
• 5 years of experience leading / managing data science programs
• Demonstrated use of novel machine learning methods and advanced problem-solving skills to solve complex issues
• Experience leading teams in the creation and use of high-quality data analytics algorithms
• Experience leveraging cloud-based solutions using modern design architectures and best practices
• Experience with one or more Deep Learning frameworks and high-performance computing solutions
• Excellent social, verbal, and written communication skills, with demonstrated ability to effectively present analytical data to a variety of technical and non-technical audiences
• Ability to work autonomously and collaboratively as part of a team to both teach and learn every day
• Willingness to lead cybersecurity analytics operations, work non-standard hours, and travel (up to 15%)
• Continuously looking for opportunities to learn, build skills, and share learning

Desired Skills:

• A domain specialization such as cyber/information security, risk management
• Experience developing data and compute platforms
• An industry specialization such as life sciences, financial services, energy, or government
• Experience or passion for implementing cloud solutions on Amazon Web Services (AWS)
• Experience leading and/or managing global and multi-tiered organizations
• Large-scale deep learning model experience and training

Education:

• Industry certifications/certificates in data science, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
• Degree in Engineering, Statistics, Data Science, Applied Mathematics, Computer Science, Physics, Computational Biology, Computational Chemistry, or related quantitative field (Masters or Ph.D. preferred)
