Position Summary...

What you'll do...

This is a high-visibility opportunity in Data Ventures' technology organization responsible for building high-impact data science solutions in digital and e-comm to delight our suppliers and merchants.

About Team: Data Ventures

Our team creates reusable technologies to help with customer acquisition, onboarding, and empowering merchants, while ensuring a seamless experience for both of these categories of stakeholders. We also optimize tariffs and assortment in accordance with Walmart's Everyday Low Cost philosophy. We not only create affordability, but we also deliver customized experiences for customers across all channels - in-store, mobile app, and websites. Owns the Charter to Build & Expand Walmart Luminate and other related products within Walmart

What you'll do:

  • Develop and improve data science solutions using machine learning techniques by writing efficient codes.
  • Perform concise data analysis from various Omni data sources. 
  • Close partnership and collaboration with product and engineering team on a continuous basis to plan, execute and deliver data science product on time.

What you'll bring:

  • Hands-on experience in common machine learning algorithms such as natural language processing/understanding, clustering, anomaly detection and good understanding of statistics and probability
  • Proficient in programming languages (Python, R, Pyspark a plus) and SQL and relational databases such as Hive and Big Query
  • Knowledge and exposure to software engineering principles, best coding practices and quality testing and agile methodologies
  • Ability to communicate complex models and analysis in a clear and precise manner coupled with actionable conclusions and recommendations.
  • Having the sense of curiosity, innovative and problem-solving mindset leading to outstanding business outcomes
  • Ability to thrive in ambiguity and often lack of clarity, demonstrated ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple projects and tight deadlines.
  • Experience with e-comm data and online customer behavior analysis a plus.
