Job Description

The Walmart Global Tech International Data Science Team is seeking a highly motivated Data Scientist for the Sunnyvale, CA-based role to join the team, and be part of Search development efforts in the Digital Experience domain.

What You Will Do:

• Improve the performance of search engines for international e-commerce websites
• Implement state-of-the-art techniques in Machine Learning, Deep Learning and Information Retrieval 
• Develop end-to-end ownership of major customer facing technologies and products
• Work with cross-functional stakeholders in Engineering and Product to deliver new features
• Write highly efficient code for superior model performance, and A/B test new ML models and algorithms related to Search 

You Are Ideal If You:

• Have a keen interest and experience in one or more of the following areas: Machine Learning, Natural Language Processing, Computer Vision, and Information Retrieval 
• Have a relevant technical degree (preferably advanced, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Operations Research, etc.) 
• Have 2+ years field experience in building and evaluating machine learning and deep learning models, preferably use these models for NLP tasks (e.g.: text classification, named entity extraction, semantic understanding, etc.) 
• Have 2+ years field experience putting machine learning models into production
• Have 2+ years field experience using opensource frameworks (e.g.: scikit learn, TensorFlow, keras, pytorch, etc.) 
• Are experienced with Big Data technologies and tools
• Are experience with cloud technologies such as GCP/Azure 
• Are fluent in Python
• MS/PhDs without prior industry experience are given consideration

Must have skills:

• Have a relevant technical degree (preferably advanced, in Computer Science, Machine Learning, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, Operations Research, etc.) 
• Are fluent in Python

Option 1: Bachelors degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field and 2 years' experience in an analytics or related field. Option 2: Masters degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology or related field. Option 3: 4 years' experience in an analytics or related field.
