From day one, you will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive tools and strategies that allow raw data to be transformed into actionable business insights for Contact Center. The role will also make recommended business improvements based on data analysis and create accurate data to drive the contact center's business. Additionally, this role will be responsible for the business configuration and maintenance of our department's reporting infrastructure, reporting tools, and analytics solutions.

You will make an impact through the following job functions

  • Advanced Analytics: In-depth investigation of key drivers of transportation dynamic optimization and data quality. Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct ad hoc “back of the envelope” analyses to quickly inform critical business decisions. Develop data visualization to monitor and quantify the impact of changes and unique business challenges.
  • Partnership and Collaboration: Engage with team members and cross-functional teams on a periodic basis and establish credibility. Analyze stakeholder needs and partner with them to share relevant information.
  • Data and Data Processing: Leverage data analysis tools to explore and process complex data. Develop and test hypotheses, uses data to influence strategic work, builds and presents insights.
  • Modeling: Develop and improve upon our methodology with NLP/Text & Voice Analytics for continuous improvement of Contact Center management. Execute on exploratory and scenario analysis to shape future changes and product improvements.
  • Continuous Improvement: Seeks to implement ideas for process improvement for the group by leveraging lean manufacturing principles, time studies, and collaborative efforts with operations teams.

What You'll Do

  • Communicate with business stakeholders and translate needs into opportunities to generate insights, test and/or improve processes.
  • Develop automated reports and data insights using tools like Tableau/PowerBI and Azure databases.
  • Extensive use of Clarabridge tool to understand Sam’s Club’s customer experiences to analyze coming from social media, call center notes, emails, chats, and surveys using AI-powered text and speech analytics.
  • Perform data analyses to quantify and monitor customer metrics and trends to help leadership better understand the customer and drive customer-centric decision making.
  • Proactively mine data and insights to drive meaningful business insights. Maintain historical data and ensure data integrity.
  • Assemble data sources from various business aspects such as customer, product, financial, transactional, and site browse data from multiple large-scale on-prem and cloud-based data systems using SQL and appropriate data science packages. Provide actionable recommendations and package for business consumption.
  • Develop and track customer segmentation, customer behavioral KPIs by evolving key performance and strategic business dashboards and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-brand and cross-functional Decision Sciences team members to stay current on team initiatives and identify opportunities to contribute to the larger team.
  • Continually learn about Sam's Club’s data, systems, and capabilities to continually improve your impact, influence, and data storytelling skills.
  • Build compelling presentations that synthesize findings, explain story behind the numbers, and communicate actionable recommendations.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Option 1- Bachelor’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 3 years' experience in an analytics related field.
  • Option 2- Master’s degree in Statistics, Economics, Analytics, Mathematics, Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field and 1 year experience in analytics related field.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Master’s degree in Machine Learning, Computer Science, Information Technology, Operations Research, Statistics, Applied Mathematics, Econometrics, or related field.
  • 2-3 years of experience in data science, machine learning, optimization models, or related field.
  • Strong communication skills to ‘tell a story’, that provides insight into the business.
  • Hands on experience in dashboard development and visualizations (e.g., Tableau, PowerBI, Clarabridge)
  • Hands on skills in cloud-based services like Azure Databricks; data engineering, data pipeline creations, data wrangling with tools such as SQL, ETL tools like Azure Data Factory, Alteryx, etc.
  • You have a passion for working in a fast-paced agile environment.
  • A collaborative mindset and sense of curiosity
  • Proficient coding skills (SQL/Python/R) and database knowledge.
