What you'll do...

The Sr. Manager I Data Science, Supply Chain Planning & Analytics, will lead various projects that deliver immediate and future operational strategies across Walmart’s Supply Chain. The Sr. Manager I will be primarily responsible for leading advanced analytical modeling, pulling together executable project plans, and working cross-functionally to implement projects that optimizes supply chain. He/she will support our strategic plans, both creating and implementing strategic operational improvements to enable expansion of our business’s scope and scale. This role is part of the Walmart eCommerce Supply Chain Strategy & Analytics team – a future-focused, action-biased, data-driven department chartered with improving all aspects of the supply chain from network design to inbound/outbound transportation and multi-channel initiatives by leveraging big data. This is a high-impact and high-visibility role within the organization with expectations to deliver immediate results.

Position Summary

You will learn the art and science of Analytics at an unsurpassed scale with the largest retailer on the planet. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams such as product, engineering, inventory managers, fulfillment operators, and retail team. Your key responsibilities will include -

• Analytics: in-depth investigation to identify key drivers of poor customer promise. Work with large, messy, disparate datasets and conduct to root cause various issues that results in poor customer promise. Conduct ad hoc “back of the envelope” analyses to quickly inform critical business decisions. Develop metrics and dashboards to monitor and quantify the impact of changes you make.
• Modeling: Develop and improve upon our methodology for capacity planning for our end-to-end supply chain network that starts from inventory placement to delivering package to customers. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to drive richer insights from modeling. Execute on exploratory and scenario analysis to shape future process and implementation.
• Project Management: Gain understanding of sometimes unarticulated business needs, translate strategic initiatives into a detailed working plan, and work across merchandising and supply chain to take actions and measure results. You will be responsible for presenting your findings and leading meetings to guide business decisions.
• Strategy: Support team roadmaps and lead thinking on step-change improvements to better customer experience, improve business process/efficiency and reduce cost.
• Serve as an internal and external evangelist for the business you support
