In Kansas City, Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies (FM&T) manages and operates the U.S. Department of Energy/National Nuclear Security Administration’s (NNSA) Kansas City National Security Campus. This position will be in Kansas City, MO

Primary Responsibilities:

  • This individual will contribute their expertise in computer vision to a multi-functional team implementing Smart Factory initiatives at the Kansas City National Security Campus. The primary focus on this role will be to develop computer vision solutions for automated optical verification in the factory.
  • Interface with internal personnel and vendors to achieve Smart Factory objectives
  • Assist in the development of computer applications to assist manufacturing operations
  • Mentor team members and provide guidance on computer vision
  • Stay current with relevant emerging technology and trends
  • Skills and experience should include:
  • Proficiency in Python programming
  • Various Imaging Processing Libraries (Numpy, etc)
  • Experience developing in common IDEs (Visual Studio Code, Juptyer, etc)
  • Experience with OpenCV and a solid understanding of Computer Vision concepts (image processing, object detection,
  • )
  • Basic Version Control Knowledge (Git, Subversion)

You Must Have:

  • BS in Engineering (Electrical, Computer) or Computer Science from ABET accredited institution
  • Two or more years of relevant experience in computer vision, machine vision or machine learning
  • US citizenship to obtain and maintain US Dept of Energy Q level security clearance

We Value:

  • MS in Engineering (Electrical, Computer) or Computer Science from an ABET accredited institution
  • Demonstrated analytical skills, proficient with computer software applications, and the ability to produce and consume written documentation.
  • Experience with deep learning frameworks PyTorch, Tensorflow, or Keras
  • Hands-on experience with Deep Learning architectures for image analysis (CNNs, RNNs, object detection,

segmentation, etc.)

  • Knowledge of commercially available computer vision solutions.
  • Creating 2D image data sets for machine learning models.
  • Six Sigma Green Belt, Six Sigma Black Belt or Lean Certification.
