Job Description

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Lead creation and development of digital “tools” which will be utilized for modeling and analysis of operating data from the commercial facilities of the customers of Honeywell’s proprietary licensed process technologies in the refining, petrochemicals, gas processing, and sustainable energy industries. These digital tools will be utilized by UOP technical service experts in collaboration with the operating personnel at customer’s facilities to evaluate operating parameters and key performance indicators with the objective of optimizing operations to maximize profitability and reliability of the licensed technologies. 
  • For each technology-specific data analytic tool project, the position will collaborate with UOP digital business leaders and technical service experts to define technical solutions, prioritize development concepts, and identify the data analysis applications that maximize customer profitability. 
  • The position will develop and manage project timelines, perform process modeling and simulation activities, interface with the requisite functional skill groups within the global Honeywell organization, and report progress to management on execution of project deliverables. The scope of development of process models, digital tools, and data analytics also includes coordination of infrastructure creation to support connected performance and outcome-based business model offerings. 
  • Collaborate with software development teams to test/implement/deploy the new software platform and data analytic tools.
  • Once deployed, follow up to support application and utilization within customers’ facility operations.

YOU MUST HAVE:

Qualified applicants must have a Ph.D or foreign equivalent in Chemical Engineering, or a related field, and two (2) years of experience with chemical engineering fundamentals. Alternatively, the employer will accept a bachelor’s degree in the stated field and six (6) years of the experience listed above. Full term of experience must include: fluid flow, heat transfer, mass transfer, kinetics and reaction engineering and experience in Python programming or demonstrated coding aptitude. Full term of experience must include one of the following categories: Multivariate statistics, experimental design, equation-based modeling and/or data analytics including cleansing, manipulating, filtering and selection, parameter estimation, and numerical methods; OR industrial experience with chemical engineering process simulation software or field/service experience in the refining or petrochemicals industries; OR experience in machine learning, data science tools, optimization techniques and algorithms; OR Python programming experience including pandas & NumPy packages or equivalent software development including object-oriented programming methods and cloud-based services. Telecommuting permitted up to two (2) times per week.
