Job Description

Join a team that designs, develops and integrates highly complex systems within Honeywell [SBG]. You will be integral in creating system solutions that meet the evolving needs of our customers. You will be involved in every aspect of the systems life cycle; from the front end of business development through product end of life.

The Advanced Robotics Engineer will be responsible for leading electrical, robotic & automation projects and driving continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Performs programming and commissioning activities in all types of projects sizes and complexities, efficiently, cost-effectively and accordance with contract specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements.
  • Leads System Design Reviews, Robots and PLC Code reviews and audits.
  • Leads testing and emulation in-house activities. Executes test plans on-site, both internal and customer acceptance/BUAT/UAT/FAT
  • Responsible to lead Project Engineering Robotics Efforts of 3+ Tier 3 projects at the time, developing local accountability by training junior engineers.
  • Supporting CAE and PMO teams in the quoting-offering stages.
  • Developing equipment standards and processes and ensuring procured or modified equipment is in compliance with standards.
  • Researching and recommending new robotic, controls, and tooling technologies.
  • Providing documentation, training, and support for integration of new equipment.
  • Supports continuous improvement of project process/product/ system design via provision of lessons learned feedback.
  • Prepares monthly forecasting and attend actual’s meeting reviews.
  • Provides site/field reports daily, including progress, issues, and next steps, as requested.
  • Uses standard processes and procedures to ensure all commissioning activities comply with the required safety regulations and satisfy contractual requirements. Reports processes and tools inefficiencies and suggests improvements ideas.
  • Supports in conducting risk and opportunity assessments during commissioning phase and in handling technical risks by following mitigation guidelines. Identifies potential Hazards and reports to Site management.
  • Reports and track issues, risks and opportunities in Cora (Project Management System).
  • Communication with Internal and External customer. Contributes with Customer Management Success.

YOU MUST HAVE

  • Bachelor's degree in electrical, Mechanical or Mechatronics Engineering
  • 7+ years of experience in robotic and controls engineering (electrical, automated manufacturing equipment, robot automation)
  • 7+ years of experience developing programs and Integration for industrial robots including Yaskawa, Kuka, Fanuc, and ABB
  • Sensing technologies (e.g., sensors, camera 2D, 3D, IMU, encoder)
  • Full project life-cycle leadership experience
  • Robot/Pallet Conveyor Commissioning, Setup, Calibration, and Troubleshooting onsite.
  • Understanding Network Communications/Troubleshooting
  • C++ Background/Skills
  • Vision System and Calibration
  • Safety PLC and Safety IO

  • Phyton, Machine Learning Model Training C Experience
  • Siemens and Beckhoff Experience/Interfacing a plus
  • Sensing technologies (e.g. sensors, camera 2D, 3D, IMU, encoder)
