We are a group focused on using data science to research and solve industrial scale problems in one of the world’s largest manufacturing operations. The Data Scientist is responsible to generate benefits by solving challenging and non-trivial problems through research, data analysis, machine learning, automation and optimization.

This role requires experience in analyzing large scale dataset and providing actionable insights, and data-driven recommendations. Works closely with cross functional supply chain leads across businesses in translating functional problems into data science models. This role will closely participate in strategic enterprise-level supply chain transformation programs including manufacturing data science, schedule optimization, inventory optimization, product flow planning, and transportation / network optimization.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead data science projects to research and tackle challenges in manufacturing productivity, process efficiency, supply chain health monitoring, digital operations, etc.
  • Translate business requirement / problem statement into data science models.
  • Collaborate with domain experts and business stake holders to ensure timely execution of results-oriented data science projects.
  • Utilize Statistics/Machine Learning/Optimization technical expertise to carry out different projects across diffident data platforms & domains.
  • Partner with our data engineering and technology groups to optimize necessary data flow and needed data transformation to achieve high performance data science products.
  • Drive analytics-adoption through connecting with global stakeholders to identify actionable business opportunities that drive value using our data science tools.
  • Tell a story with data analytics to our stakeholders and present results in a way that both technical and non-technical audiences can understand. Express ideas clearly, concisely in understandable form, both orally and in writing.
  • Utilize data science to drive supply chain efficiencies and support change management that drive down costs.
  • Continually assess/propose alternative data science proposals / models to deliver value.
  • Be a data science advocate in our journey of digital transformation of supply chain
  • Other duties as assigned

YOU MUST HAVE:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Mathematics, Operational research, Data Analytics or related field
  • Deep knowledge in multiple of the following areas: supervised/unsupervised/reinforcement learning, time series data analysis, generative models, causal analysis, continuous/discrete optimization, clustering techniques
  • Solid ability to carry out data cleansing, feature engineering, machine learning and hyperparameter tuning using python language
  • Solid ability to query data from a variety of sources from named spaces, data marts, and/or normalized views using SQL
  • Solid knowledge of statistics (ANOVA, A/B test, DOE, etc)
  • Due to contractual requirements, all applicants must be US Citizens or Permanent Residents

  • Hands-on experience in PyCharm / Snowflake / Data Bricks / SQL
