As the senior manager, you will lead the team responsible for the development and support of several advanced analytics products for BDS supply chain function. The development of new capabilities within these products is a key responsibility of this role.

You will be diving “down-and-in” with the team to solve technical problems as well as understand the foundational impact of major technical decisions as we continue to evolve our software and analytics development program. In addition, you’ll support “up-and-out” partnering with other senior leaders across organizations to ensure we are focused on the right things for transforming our supply chain execution. The team operates in an agile framework to meet our customer commitments with the highest quality, so bringing in agile experience and expertise is a key component to success.

Another aspect of the role will be to expand the products to integrate artificial intelligence and machine learning features into existing and new products.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Drives the design, development, and deployment of customer-facing products and services (specifically for supporting BDS Supply Chain)
  • Develops and maintains relationships with key leaders in Supply Chain and other business functions to define and execute the long-term strategy and near-term roadmap for the Defense Business Unit
  • Manages team members supporting software development
  • Develops and executes integrated organizational plans, policies and procedures and guides the development of business and technical strategies, goals, objectives
  • Acquires resources for organizational activities, provides technical management of suppliers and leads process improvements
  • Develops and maintains relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders, peers, partners, and direct reports
  • Understands the larger business climate within the group, our customers, and our industry and successfully translates that to our team members for understanding and action
  • Empowers and drives team accountability to make decisions

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

This position must meet export control compliance requirements. To meet export control compliance requirements, a “U.S. Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. §120.15 is required. “U.S. Person” includes U.S. Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor’s degree in a quantitative field (e.g., computer science, engineering, statistics, operations research, information systems, or similar quantitative fields)
  • 3+ years of experience in a technical leadership role, overseeing strategic projects, people management, supervision/team leadership role
  • 3+ years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages (e.g., Python, C, C++, Java, React, Angular)
  • 3+ years of experience in one or more backend languages (e.g., Java / Spring / GoLang)
  • Demonstrated proficiency with full stack software development (REACT, Springboot, Node.js, DBT, Git, etc.)
  • Experience with cloud-based solutions deployment
  • Experience building artificial intelligence and machine learning models and/or applications
  • Experience leading the planning and execution of projects with multiple stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Master’s degree or PhD in a quantitative field
  • Experience with understanding supply chain processes in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with attracting, developing, and challenging world class software developers with a passion to drive excellence in software development
  • Demonstrated track record of innovation / understanding Industry Trends & Best Practices – Possesses a thoughtful point of view on industry trends impacting application development, software architecture, data analytics and machine learning
  • Experience leading a virtual team across multiple time zones

Relocation:

This position offers relocation based on candidate eligibility.

Travel:

Position may require travel up to 10% of the time.

Salaries are based upon candidate experience and qualifications, as well as market and business considerations.

Summary pay range (Ridley Park / Long Beach / Seattle): $174,250 – $235,750

Summary pay range (St Louis / North Charleston / Mesa): $163,200 – $220,800
