Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions is currently seeking a Senior Software Architect - Java Full Stack to join us in Bangalore, India. The Boeing Digital Aviation Solutions (DAS) Senior Software Architect - Java Full Stack must have a broad technical background with experience in modernization and leading a portfolio of legacy applications to become distributed, cloud native, software solutions. The candidate needs strong technology leadership, analytical skills, teamwork, and excellent communication skills. The candidate will need to communicate at different levels in the organization to other technical personnel, business leaders and customers. This role will drive innovative, evolutionary, reliable, scalable solutions that advance flight efficiency and sustainability in the aviation industry.
Position Responsibilities:
- Partner with the Digital Aviation Solutions, business and technology leaders to understand the business needs that drive technology decisions and roadmap.
- Create and execute technology modernization initiatives for the portfolio by working closely with business, technology leadership, and other architects on strategy, execution and adoption all while continuing development and maintenance on existing applications and adhering to architectural standards and practices.
- Design applications to be adaptable, cost-optimized, cloud-native SaaS technologies in a globally distributed, multi-cloud environment.
- Guide and assist in evaluation of solutions, proof of concepts and build/buy assessments for being well-architected, well-managed and optimized for our business and technology strategy and objectives while following best practices and patterns.
- Work closely with Information Security Office and Enterprise Cloud to ensure security standards and regulatory compliance requirements are adhered to.
- Define document and communicate complex technical design, vision, roadmap, NFR(s), standards and governance, solution intents and software architecture documents to teams and stakeholders
- Research, advise, compare and recommend technology solutions; ability to demonstrate and maintain method of keeping current on new technologies

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):
- Bachelor's degree or higher in IT related field or equivalent.
- At least 12 years of experience in Software development and architecture in a highly regulated industry (transportation, government, health, etc.).
- At least 7 years of experience building distributed highly available, cloud scalable workflow solutions like, microservice orchestration and SaaS applications and services
- At least 5 years of experience working with legacy technology modernization and refactoring techniques such as domain driven design (DDD), strangler fig, transitional architectures, etc.
- At least 3 years of experience with application performance management technologies, diagnostics, and issue resolution management
- At least 5 years of experience in development frameworks, cloud native technologies and tools, databases and programming languages including Angular/Reactjs, Nodejs, CI/CD pipelines, Java, .Net, python, Docker, Kubernetes/Istio, JavaScript, AWS/Azure Cloud, MongoDB, PostgreSQL
- Proven experience leading a remote globally distributed team
- Experience with business process management solutions delivering low code/no code workflow and pipelines for operational and fulfilment value streams
- Experience architecting and developing software solutions for distributed systems in data analytics and machine learning
- Familiar with SAFe practices and creating a solution intent to communicate architecture strategy
Desired Skills (Preferred qualifications):
- At least 12 years of experience in Software development and architecture in a highly regulated industry (transportation, government, health, etc.).
- Knowledge of the Well-Architected principles
- Strong interpersonal, communication and organization skills
- Experience with enabling and achieving business objectives with measurable business outcomes through technology
- Ability to inspire, influence and lead other architects and business partners through technology transformation
- Aeronautical navigation and aviation domain knowledge and experience
Typical Education & Experience:
- Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 13 years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience (e.g. Master + 12 years' related work experience.)

This position does offer relocation within INDIA.
