Boeing Application Modernization Service provides multiple products and opportunities to utilize full set of skills with fellow IT architects, application teams, vendor architects to have the flexibility and agility to meet their specific application development and security requirements, by securing and enabling application modernization. The team is currently looking for Experienced Application Architect (Computing Architect-General) to join their team. Boeing is transforming its business and adopting a data centric culture. Boeing is modernizing its suite of applications. This position will drive the transformation by collaborating and working closely with Application Architects/SMEs, Supplier Architects/Developers, Cloud Vendor Architects and IT functions Architects such as Security. Application Modernization Architect will be partnering with Company Application Architects/Developers and Supplier architects/Developers building solutions that include system design, technology selection, solution design, process design, and execution. The said position will also have the opportunity to collaborate with other common service functions, interact with the most innovative and diverse people around the globe.

Position Responsibilities:

• Drive strategic roadmaps, capabilities development and maturation aligned to data products industry standard taxonomy including an emphasis on future state modern cloud native solutions
• Understand and provide solutions to the integration team for data migration, APIs and Microservices.
• Work with Architects to design and co create different modernization patterns and reference architecture
• Design of the Modernization strategy, tools, application, database and integration components. Contributes with the team to adopt right tools for various migration methods for (re-host, re-factor, re-architect, re-platform, containerization etc.).
• Experience architecting, designing, migrating workloads to the public cloud
• Experience in a range of migration discovery, profiling, migration automation, and operations technologies and tools
• Utilizing Best Practices in the critical evaluation and selection and / or development of the software components and hardware requirements of the applications and data, and the development of the application, including evaluation and selection of development methods, development processes, best practices and tools
• Professional experience in consulting, transformation, migration as well as strategy with public and private cloud computing technologies.
• Work very closely with product managers, supplier architects/developers and business application architects to define technical product requirements and collaborate within agile team to drive user story/tasks creation along with design and development activities.
• Automation using DevSecOps, apply machine learning algorithms and artificial intelligence and other available tools to expedite the product development along with First Time Quality.
• Participate in group sessions within developer community and share knowledge
• Mentors team members and contribute in creating and maintaining best coding practices and oversight using stringent reviews.
• Effectively resolve problems and roadblocks as they occur, consistently following through details while driving innovation as well as issue resolution.
• Monitor the implementation of architecture throughout the system development lifecycle and seek and provide clarification when needed.
• Work with cross-functional teams spread across multiple products and locations within Boeing and external partners, across different cultures and time-zones.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

• A Bachelor’s degree or higher is required as a BASIC QUALIFICATION
• 8+ years with application modernization best practices development, solution architecture, including database
• 5+ years’ experience with systems integration design, differences between applications and platforms and DevSecOps design/development
• 5+ years’ experience on working with geographical spread teams across time zones
• 5+ years Software Development experience in Agile methodology
• 5+ years’ experience on interaction with business architects, IT function architects and business executives.
• Experience in software testing including automated testing is desirable
• Must be flexible, with a high tolerance for organizational complexity and ability to work with partners from within Boeing and outside, across different cultures and time-zones.
• Should have excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
• Preferred knowledge of cloud deployment and development of apps on Java / .Net stack etc on cloud platforms
• Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, high pressure environment
• Displays excellent oral and written communication skills to team members, peers, customers and management
• Strong interpersonal skills - Capable of working as a member of a team, maintaining one's composure in difficult situations.
• Collaborate effectively with other team members
• Experience in Windows and UNIX operating systems
• Ability to take given specifications and generate code for functional applications
• Ability to test and debug developed applications
• Ability to document all program and application development
• Ability to develop good user interfaces
• Ability to listen and ask appropriate questions

Typical Education & Experience:

• Education/experience typically acquired through advanced education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 8 Plus years' related work experience or Master’s Degree with 7+ years of experience with an equivalent combination of education and experience
