The position will involve creating software for world class, next generation disruptive systems and technologies. The selected candidate will work with the Disruptive Computing & Networks (DC&N) product team focused on the concept, requirements, architecture, design and development of a future system. Position Responsibilities:

  • Analyzes and translates requirements into system, hardware and software designs and interface specifications
  • Tests and validates to ensure system designs meet operational and functional requirements
  • Solves problems concerning and provides other support of fielded hardware and software over the entire product lifecycle
  • Researches specific technology advances for potential application to company business needs
  • Develop high-level design requirements and block-level micro-architectures, partition design within ASIC/FPGA
  • Develop RTL designs using VHDL, with emphasis on digital communication system blocks (frontend, physical layer, link layer, error correction, etc.)
  • Optimize your designs for area, speed, and power to meet system requirements; analyze architectural trade-offs
  • Develop test benches and test cases for block-level functional verification, emphasizing bit-matching and self-checking
  • Run implementation tools, such as Xilinx Vivado, and familiar with Vitus to develop applications on the adaptive SOC’s; perform timing closure for your designs
  • Collaborate with software engineers in developing production software for your designs

This position is expected to be 100% onsite. The selected candidate will be required to work onsite at one of the listed location options.

This position requires an active U.S. Secret Security Clearance (U.S. Citizenship Required). (A U.S. Security Clearance that has been active in the past 24 months is considered active).

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelor, Master or Doctorate of Science degree from an accredited course of study, in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry
  • 2+ years of experience in Field Programmable Gate Arrays Design
  • 2+ years of experience in Vhsic Hardwdare Description (VHDL) Language and/or Verilator coding
  • Experience in Electronic Design Automation tools
  • Experience with synthesis and static timing analysis
  • Experience with timing closure techniques for high-speed designs such as bandwidth, throughput, and data movement

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • Active Top Secret/SCI Security Clearance with Poly
  • 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • 5+ years of experience in System Verilog or VHDL/Verilator coding
  • 5+ years of experience in FPGA Design
  • Experience with Infiniband or Interlaken (e.g SERDES) development
  • Experience with device driver implementation with device peripherals for FPGA development
  • Experience with simulation frameworks of virtualized FPGA’s and hardware in the loop systems (e.g QEMU, CoSim, EMASE, SITE)
  • Experience with configuration management and collaboration tools such as (or similar to) Git, JIRA, Collaborator, Beyond Compare, and VersionOne
  • Experience with Agile development methodologies
  • Experience with requirements analysis

Typical Education/Experience:

Associate Level (Level 2): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 2 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. Master). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Mid-Level (Level 3): Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.

Summary pay range for associate level: 90,950 – 123,050

Summary pay range for mid-level: 112,200 – 151,800
