The Boeing Commercial Aircraft (BCA) Data Analytics & Integration team is seeking an enthusiastic Engineering Data Scientist with advanced knowledge in machine learning techniques, advanced statistics, text analytics, and natural language processing to join our hybrid team in Everett, WA.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Develops integrated roadmaps for analytics capability development leveraging internal and external resources.
  • Determines strategies for the progression of analytics to align with the organization’s focus and priorities.
  • Leads cross-functional teams that determine, define and deploy highly complex descriptive, diagnostic, predictive, or prescriptive analytic solutions.
  • Evaluates organizational objectives, determines stakeholder needs and identifies requirements.
  • Chooses best fit methods, defines algorithms, validates and deploys models.
  • Performs necessary data preparation and enhancements to models.
  • Creates and develops new methodologies to address unmet analysis needs.

This is a hybrid position that allows some telecommuting. The selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options.

The position must meet Export Control compliance requirements, therefore a “US Person” as defined by 22 C.F.R. § 120.15 is required. “US Person” includes US Citizen, lawful permanent resident, refugee, or asylee.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • Bachelors of Science degree or higher from an accredited course of study in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, computer science, engineering
  • 2+ years of experience in data science or analytics
  • 2+ years of experience in database management, programming, statistical modeling and/or machine learning (SQL, R, Python, JMP, Tableau, etc.)
  • 2+ years of experience in performing statistical analysis

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • PhD. in data science, machine learning, applied statistics, mathematics, or other analytics oriented scientific field of study
  • Experience working with analytics technology stacks; Azure, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), Teradata, etc.
  • Good organizational, interpersonal, and problem solving skills
  • Ability to adjust priorities to multiple demands and unanticipated events
  • Highly motivated and must work well in a team environment
  • The ability to communicate effectively, both verbally and in writing
  • Experience in commercial aviation business or engineering

Typical Education/ Experience:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education from an accredited course of study in engineering, computer science, mathematics, physics or chemistry (e.g Bachelor) and typically 14 or more years’ related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD +9 years’ related work experience, master +12 years’ related work experience). In the USA, ABET accreditation is the preferred, although not required, accreditation standard.
