Job Description
We are looking for a Cognos and Power BI Developer to join the team who is passionate about data and analytics, with a strong track record of designing, developing, and maintaining BI solutions. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver impactful BI solutions, reports, and dashboards.
Key Responsibilities:
- BI Solution Development: Design, develop, and maintain Cognos and Power BI reports, dashboards, and data models to support business needs.
- Data Integration: Extract, transform, and load (ETL) data from various sources to ensure accurate and consistent reporting.
- Performance Optimisation: Optimise and tune BI solutions to maximum performance and reliability.
- Data Analysis: Work closely with stakeholders to understand business requirements and translate them into effective BI solutions.
- Data Governance: Ensure data security, quality, and compliance with company policies and industry standards.
- Documentation: Create and maintain documentation for BI solutions, data sources, and ETL processes.
- Training and Support: Provide training and support to end-users to maximise the value of BI solutions.
Education and/or Experience
Essential:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience in developing Cognos and Power BI solutions.
- Proficiency in SQL, data modelling, and ETL processes.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Excellent communication and collaboration abilities.
- Knowledge of best practices in BI development and data visualisation
Desirable:
- Relevant Cognos and Power BI certifications
- Experience with data warehousing and cloud-based BI platforms.
- Familiarity with data analytics and machine learning concepts.
- Knowledge of industry-specific tools and technologies.
