Boeing Digital Aviation Services (BDAS) is looking for a Senior or Experienced Data Scientist – Machine Learning Expert to join the Applied Research & Incubation team based out of Englewood, CO. The organizational scope supports all Boeing locations and requires at least three days a week onsite presence in the office (hybrid working environment).

The selected candidate must have a passion for continuous learning, teaching and collaborating. The ideal candidate should have well-reasoned opinions on technical matters but recognize other ideas and opinions. Paramount to success in this role is the ability to define, build and deploy artificial intelligence and machine learning solutions. Additionally, working directly with customers and business leaders to scope problems, clearly communicate results, and address any concerns in terms that can be understood by non-technical community of stakeholders.

Position Responsibilities:

  • Leads and mentors’ BI analysts and data scientists in the design, development, and implementation of complex and challenging efforts in advanced analytics and machine learning.
  • Lead and mentor BI analysts and data scientists in the design, development, and implementation of complex and challenging efforts in advanced analytics and machine learning.
  • Partner with the enterprise business functions and collaborate across multiple teams including analytics, product management, and operations to solve problems and identify trends and opportunities.
  • Lead and contribute to design, algorithm, and code reviews.
  • Chooses best fit methods, defines algorithms, validates and deploys models to achieve business results.
  • Develop end-to-end BI, AI, ML solutions including data processing, feature & model development and production deployment with agility and scale.
  • Performs necessary data preparation and enhancements to models.

This position is hybrid. This means that the selected candidate will be required to perform some work onsite at one of the listed location options, 3 days a week on site. This is at the hiring team’s discretion and could potentially change in the future.

Basic Qualifications (Required Skills/Experience):

  • 3+ years of experience with coding in Tableau, R/Python, C/ C++, and/or SQL
  • Experience with industry work experience or academic research in applied Artificial Intelligence / Machine Learning including deep learning/ supervised learning.
  • 5+ years of experience leading small teams of technical experts in the development of advanced analytics, machine learning, or software solutions.
  • 1+ years of experience or relevant coursework in software engineering including work with databases (e.g., experience with SQL/Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).

Preferred Qualifications (Desired Skills/Experience):

  • 5+ years of experience with coding in Tableau, R/Python, C/ C++, and/or SQL
  • Masters or PhD Degree preferred.
  • Experience building and implementing state-of-the-art computer vision models and pipelines.
  • Experience building and implementing state-of-the-art graph neural networks and pipelines.
  • Experience building and implementing state-of-the-art natural language processing models and pipelines
  • 5+ years of experience or relevant coursework with machine learning related open-source libraries including, but not limited to: Pandas, SciKit-Learn, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Theano, etc. Python experience preferred.
  • Work experience or relevant coursework in software engineering including work with databases (e.g., experience with SQL) and Linux systems.

Typical Education/Experience:

Level 3:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 5 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD, Master+3 years' related work experience, 9 years' related work experience, etc.

Level 4:

Education/experience typically acquired through advanced technical education (e.g. Bachelor) and typically 9 or more years' related work experience or an equivalent combination of technical education and experience (e.g. PhD+4 years' related work experience, Master+7 years' related work experience, 13 years' related work experience, etc.)

Level 3: Summary pay range: $121,550.00-$164,450.00

Level 4: Summary pay range: $144,500.00-$195,500.00
