Job Description
Our team has an immediate permanent opening for a Senior Principal Architect.
Responsibilities:
- Lead a team in research of algorithms on accelerating the training of the market-driven AI models on Huawei’s Ascend Platform, reaching/exceeding the state-of-the-art performance
- Plan project and technology roadmap
- Track the trend of AI theory and technology development in the world and generate research report and proposals
- Publish high-quality AI research papers, and attend conferences
- Drive collaborations with other teams from Huawei’s global research centers
Job requirements
What you’ll bring to the team：
- MSc, or PhD in Computer Science, Math/Statistics, Engineering
- 5+ years working experience in optimizing deep learning algorithms and/or their applications to NLP/Multimodal/Speech/CV/
- In-depth understanding of state-of-the-art algorithms and foundation models (GPT series, BERT, ViT, …)
- Knowledge in full stack of AI acceleration technologies, including optimizers, model compression, sparse training, low rank decomposition, data efficiency, AI accelerators, etc
- Experience with distributed model training (DeepSpeed, Megatron, Colossal-AI, Horovod, etc)
- A solid publication record at top AI conferences is an asset
- Team leader experience in AI industry is an asset
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills for documentation and presentation
- Be able to work with a global team, occasionally night meetings and travel across countries.
