Job Description

Our team has an immediate opening for a Co-op.

Responsibilities:

• Work on challenging but impactful projects both in research and real-world applications in NLP and operations research.
• Conduct high-quality research in the topics of reinforcement learning, large language modeling, offline RL, etc.
• Develop prototype applications in natural language processing and understanding with focus operations research domain.
• Conduct innovative research, and combing research with engineering to create real-world impacts to improve the robustness and capabilities of large language models
• Work closely with a multi-disciplinary team to design state-of-the-art NLP solutions and reinforcement learning algorithms, to evaluate them both with common benchmarking suites and with internal simulation environments & date sets, and to publish the research results at top conferences
• Support R&D in the domains of reinforcement learning from human feedback, human-in-the-loop systems, large language model applications, etc.
• Contribute to Huawei’s intellectual property and take part in publishing papers in top ML conferences.

Job requirements

What you'll bring to the team:

• Bachelors in computer science or related fields with a focus on reinforcement learning & decision-making.
• Interested in publishing papers to ML Conferences.
• In-depth hands-on experience in Python, C/C++, R, Julia, TensorFlow, PyTorch, Keras, etc. and a track record of translating ideas into research prototypes quickly.
• Work or internship experience at industry research labs or technology companies is an asset.
• Hands-on experience with RL frameworks (e.g. Open-Gym, Pytorch RL, etc).
