Job Description
- Develop deep learning applications for resource-constrained devices using compression techniques.
- Perform research in deep learning in collaboration with university.
- Supervise / co-supervise undergraduate or graduate university coop interns along with our partner university professors.
- Evaluate effect of hardware resource constraints on deployed deep learning applications, and propose alternative solutions.
- Contribute to internal deep learning frameworks.
- Design and build deep learning prototypes, proof of concepts and demos of deep learning applications and hand to to Huawei product teams.
Qualifications
- PhD or Master’s degree?in computer hardware,? electrical engineering, or a related fields.
- Demonstrated ability to build deep learning applications using Python and deep learning frameworks such as PyTorch or TensorFlow.
- Thorough understanding of deep learning foundations and training tricks.
- Experience with neural network compression (i.e. quantization, pruning) is an asset.
- Experience optimizing performance-critical applications for target hardware devices (i.e. CPU/GPU).
- Understanding of computer architecture limitations (i.e. memory hierarchy and bandwidth, low-bit computation, etc).
- Knowledge of low-level mobile programming (i.e. ARM, GPU and/or DSP programming) an asset.
