Job Description

We are seeking an exceptionally talented Research Scientist who loves to invent and develop new interaction techniques for consumer products that may benefit hundreds of millions of users. Specifically, you will conduct cutting-edge research on haptic engineering. We aim to explore, design, and develop practical and innovative haptic interfaces for Huawei products.?

Responsibilities

• Conceive, plan, implement, and refine haptic modules and mechanical/electromechanical systems.
• Design, build, and evaluate tangible interactive systems.
• Develop functional prototypes by integrating haptic and sensing modules.
• Work with researchers and designers to advance scientific knowledge in business-relevant areas.
• Generate intellectual property such as patents from research findings.
• Communicate and promote the use of research findings throughout Huawei.
• Publish papers in peer-reviewed scientific journals/conferences.

Qualifications

• Master/Ph.D. in mechatronics, mechanical engineering, electrical engineering, computer science, or other disciplines related to haptic engineering or electromechanical engineering.
• Experience with designing, prototyping, and testing haptic actuators and electromechanical systems.
• Experience with haptic rendering algorithms and software
• Solid understanding of haptic engineering, computer science fundamentals, and strong problem solving skills.
• Strong programming proficiency in Java, C++, Python, and other relevant programming language.
