Job Description

Based in Toronto (Markham), Huawei Canada Research & Development Center is responsible for developing key technologies such as artificial intelligence and computer vision. We innovate at the leading edge of machine learning, computer vision, and to bring the next generation Huawei's products. We are looking for a Senior Computer Vision Researcher to join us!

• Define Huawei's next-generation terminal products collaborating with the Chief CV Scientist; grasp key technology requirements and tailor detailed research topics & plans.
• Partner and guide the research team and implement academic & applied research in computer vision of consumer's business.
• Fulfill the technical requirement of terminal product development. Your research will be applied widely in the terminal field of consumer business, such as mobile devices. The featured result of your research will be presented to the world via the latest Huawei Product Launch Event.
• Use your deep understanding of computer vision, machine learning, and artificial intelligence to tackle meaningful technical problems, guide and collaborate with researchers and product development teams in the world and transfer your ideas into solutions in the next generation of Huawei terminal products.

Qualifications

• Ph.D. or Master's degree in Computer Vision, Computer Science or a related STEM field
• 2?years + of industry experiences in research in applying machine learning and deep learning
• Expertise in at least one area of visual image enhancement, semantic understanding and reasoning of images(e.g., intelligent scene recognition, saliency detection, image semantic, color balance, image super-resolution and denoising, OCR, image search and image captioning etc.)
• Proven track of record in top academic conferences/publications (i.e., CVPR, ICCV, NeurlIPS, ECCV, AAAI?etc. )
• A passion for creating innovative techniques, and making them robust and scalable
• Ability to distill vague product experiences into concrete problem definitions
• Solid programming skills with C++ and/or Java and/or Python
• Experience with Android or other mobile systems as a plus
