PayPal's Global Fraud Risk team is looking for an analytical, articulated and results-driven manager to join our Tel Aviv P2P Risk Data Science team. Risk Data Scientists are highly motivated team players who specialize in analyzing fraud patterns and creating and adapting advanced fraud prevention mechanisms while focusing on the customer’s experience. The Data Scientists overcome challenges presented by big data, evolving fraud techniques and new payment technologies by leveraging area expertise, data analysis, advanced algorithms, and story-based analytics. The ideal candidates are problem solvers, equipped with strong analytical skills suited to approach varied challenges in complex environments, and able to deconstruct the problem and transform personal insights into large scale, state-of-the-art solutions.
As a Data Science Manager, you will be responsible for:
- Leading a team of highly skilled data scientists
- Plan the team’s work and vision, execute the plan on-time with the expected benefits
- Build long-term relationships with internal partners and stakeholders
- Transform large amounts of complex data into business insights and solutions by using the latest technology in machine learning, innovation and analytics methodologies.
- Have subject-matter expertise of multiple domains/topics within Risk
- Providing regular updates to senior leadership, peers and other stakeholders that simplifies complex analytical research and insights into easy-to-follow actionable outcomes and drives impact for our customers, our stakeholders and PayPal
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree or above in one of the following: economics, finance, engineering, exact sciences, etc.
- Team management experience. Experience managing teams in a global organization – an advantage
- Minimum 6 years of relevant work experience in Data Science or analytical domains. Prior experience in Risk Management preferred
- Proficiency using SQL and querying relational databases, working knowledge of Hadoop, Python, R, Tableau
- Excellent verbal, written, and presentation skills across cross-functional support teams and to BU partners. Comfortable leading/presenting in group settings.
- Team player, responsible, delivery-oriented
- Excellent spoken and written English
