Job Description

This is a new role at PayPal, and as a Director of Product Management- AI you will establish your team, work closely in refining your roadmap and drive fast-paced experimental execution culture. We are looking for someone with passion to delight customers, that is passionate about data and developer enablement, that has sharp problem-solving skills and excellent collaboration and communication skills. This person has successfully launched and scaled platform products and needs to excel in a highly collaborative, cross-functional, values-driven environment.

As Director of Technical Product Management, AI - Checkout, your responsibilities will be to:

  • Build the next generation of AI driven checkout experiences at PayPal.
  • Drive product vision and create capabilities that add value to both merchants and consumers. Identify new unmet opportunities and gaps in the portfolio by analyzing the market and ecosystem.
  • Build and lead a best-in-class, highly efficient team of technical product managers in the areas of AI/ML and data platform.
  • Mentor and influence product managers in thinking strategically, being technologists and develop a good understanding of financial impact of product and features.
  • Collaborating cross functionally in defining the data products, data models and best in class data management standards for PayPal globally.
  • Evangelize, Communicate and Influence, by driving alignment on vision, roadmap, investment needs, risks and opportunities with large cross functional teams, leaders, including C-level executives.
  • Execute with excellence in a cross-functional setting, building strong relationships with key stakeholders (data engineers, software engineers, product analytics, merchant tech and other business teams).
  • Run lean experiments to learn and develop and evangelize a strong point of view on how to improve KPIs
  • Define and measure key performance indicators to evaluate and understand product value.
  • Identifying new opportunities based on research, industry trends and best practices, driving innovation.
  • Deliver results. Own business outcomes and be responsible for hitting experience and revenue targets

What you need to bring:

  • MBA or Masters in STEM fields
  • 5+ years of experience in AI Product Development and People Management
  • 10+ years of experience in Product Management, with demonstrated success in launching and scaling multiple 0-1 products
  • Technical and business acumen are critical along with demonstrating experience in defining and driving transformation initiatives.
  • Experience in building new teams, building a strong team culture and influencing cross-functional hiring plans.
  • Experience inspiring and mobilizing all levels of the organization with your product vision, data centric thinking and customer/developer passion.
  • Being comfortable in navigating with ambiguity and establishing an iterative roadmap and experimentation culture.
  • Defining the product and customer experience with high quality business requirements and user stories while managing scope of each product release and refining the technology architecture and scalability for the use case.
  • Skilled at working with cross functional groups and matrix organizations in multiple geographies to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in areas like e-commerce, checkout, payments and/or risk domain - a plus
