We are looking for an outstanding Senior Business Analyst to join the Analytics practice for PayPal Payments Platform. You’ll join the team that powers Payments for our PayPal Core, Braintree, Venmo, Xoom and Paydiant transactions. If you like solving problems such as “How to continuously improve to scale to trillions of dollars in volume and billions of users while delivering the highest availability in the industry, the lowest latency, and the highest quality code”. This one's for you! You will work closely with the product, payments and engineering teams as well as senior management to help drive experience that our customers love.

Responsibilities include:

  • Keep the pulse of the vital signals of the payments platform and ensure it’s optimal performance. The scope includes card acquiring, bank and balance funded transactions, PayPal Core, Braintree, Venmo, Xoom and Paydiant transactions.
  • Initiate analysis that will drive improvement in the platform’s Authorization Rate, Reliability to Business, ability to scale, Speed of processing a transaction and cost per transactions.
  • Quantify and translate impact of any product improvement or degradation on key metrics such as transaction expense, decline rates, availability to business (ATB) and communicate the potential financial impact to senior execs in a clear and concise manner.
  • Develop standardized methodologies and templates (includes metrics discovery, segmentation, benchmarking, time-periods, etc.) so that products can be launched and tracked in an efficient manner across regions. This is a critical support to the product go to market strategy, execution and monitoring post release.
  • Develop a strong relationship with the data infrastructure team and provide oversight to the implementation of data quality and data integration solutions across the organization, drive innovative solutions to improve data/analytics quality, data visualization, and automation and scalability of reports and dashboards. 
  • Collaborate with business operations and product teams, prioritize issue resolution, and establish and maintain an operating rhythm and accountability to identify and resolve product performance issues.

Experience

  • Successful candidates will possess exceptional business judgment, strong analytic skills, and superb communication skills. They must have a passion for living in the data and be comfortable rolling up their sleeves to get into the details of the analysis, as well as being able to synthesize and provide high-level thought leadership.
  • Proven track-record of utilizing a data-driven approach to solve ambiguous business problems and delivering business and operational impact directly and through others.
  • Requires strong technical and analytical skills to translate complex transactional data into valuable and insightful information.
  • 7+ years analytics experience. Experience in payment/financial services industry is a plus.
  • Experience with statistical packages (SAS or R), SQL, BigQuery, AutoML Tools (H2O, Wave) and reporting tools like Qlikview and Tableau.
  • Bachelor’s/Master’s degree preferably in a quantitative field (engineering/accounting/statistics).
