Job Description
Your way to impact
The candidate will be part of PayPal Data Technology’s Engineering Team. The candidate will be responsible for analysis, design, coding and build security framework for ETL teams in Big data.
The candidate must interact with global cross-functional teams to address complex business requirements. The role demands the individual to possess technical skills required to perform the job in an effective manner. The individual should be self-motivated, possess creative problem-solving skills and have the ability to handle multiple projects at the same time.
Your day to day
- Participating and collaborating with Product Owner/Cross functional teams in the organization to understand the business requirements and to deliver solutions that can scale.
- Working closely with Architecture team in designing solutions for Data integration and movement.
- Creativity and out of the box thinking is required.
- Proactively anticipating problems and keeping the team and management informed in a timely manner.
- Being flexible and being able to support all functions of product life cycle when required.
- Will be acting as tech lead and produce quality deliverables.
What do you need to bring-
- 10+ years of experience in the IT industry and 4+ years of experience in Big Data Engineering is Mandatory.
- Proficient in Big data Environments –, Hadoop, Spark, Spark Streaming, Pig, Hive, MR
- Experience in GCP Environment & tools – Spark Streaming, BigQuery, Bigtable, Spanner preferred
- Experience in Big Data Applications Design and Development. Design and build datalake, data warehouse platforms.
- Hands on in Programming proficiency in any programming language like Java, Python especially designing and developing data ingestion, analytics, processing frameworks.
- Strong fundamentals of object-oriented design, data structures, algorithms and design patterns
- Knowledge of Real time Analytics / event driven systems.
- Expert in software engineering tools and best practices
- Expert in design/implementation for reliability, availability, scalability and performance
- Should have strong SQL programming skills
- Knowledge of data warehousing concepts
- Excellent written and oral communication skills
