Job Description
Your way to Impact
As a Data Analyst Intern you will support the growth of PayPal’s Buy Now Pay Later usage in Southern Europe. With a specific focus on merchant adoption: understanding of the merchant’s business needs and value drivers which are critical for opportunity development. This will typically include in depth analysis of Buy Now Pay Later performance, value selling and thought leadership.
Your day to day
- Support the increase PayPal’s BNPL product penetration and overall share of payment volume across the merchant portfolio through understanding of a merchant’s business and values drivers identifying commercial opportunities
- Conduct data driven deep dive analysis on strategic topics e.g. new vertical analysis, merchant churn, merchant performance, competition etc
- Track performance of our merchant business against goals, identify where and why we are over or underperforming
- Support the Enterprise Sales team with strategic and tactical decision
- Be comfortable building and reviewing compelling commercial pitches
- Be comfortable working with complex projects
- Analyze specific product performance, propose improvements/changes
What do you need to bring-
- Currently studying for an Undergraduate degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Actuarial Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Data Science, Engineering, Science or other numerate degree. Penultimate year or final year student preferred. Recent graduates may also apply.
- You will have a genuine interest in the use of technology in commercial and business environments, preferably with knowledge or experience working in a digital environment
- You will have strong interpersonal skills and the ability to engage with multiple stakeholders across the PayPal business
- Highly motivated, structured yet flexible and adaptable, enthusiastic and self-starting
- Exceptional communication and presentation skills, with an emphasis on translating insights, product information and data into client value.
- Strong analytical skills
- Ability to work well in a fast-paced team environment, with a good attention to detail
- Good team player with collaborative approach and ability to forge constructive relationships quickly
- Strong IT skills, Excel and PowerPoint
- You may also have an Undergraduate Degree
- Proficiency in English is a must and fluency in French, Italian and/or Spanish is a strong plus
