Job Description

This role will have overarching responsibility of the B2B data landscape, category management, AI, data governance, quality and analysis. It will define and drive the UK (AFH), IE(UFS), & ANZ (UFS) operational platform and process strategies. It will drive sustainable category growth for the categories in which Unilever operates developing strategies in partnership with internal teams and external partners and implementing solutions and recommendations to grow our mutual business sustainably.

The successful candidate will be responsible for creating multi-year growth strategies for B2B across UKIANZ spanning all data initiatives.

Responsible for working with senior leaders and the XLT to set realistic but stretching KPIs for their team. Must look at ways to expand capabilities in-house and drive expansion of and new opportunities in this space through technology and data, facilitating, driving and maintaining the right work streams with x-functional teams and our customers. This will include pioneering AI techniques to automate and better manage big data.

Utilise all other platforms and Unilever wide initiatives to leverage enablement of growth and opportunities in this space. Will it? Platform ownership could move out to the relevant business teams with support form UniOps.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Defining and owning the data strategies
  • Defining and owning the short, mid and long term roadmaps
  • Delivering incremental improvements in an Agile way , able to effectively prioritise and manage workload across whole team
  • Unlocking data to feed incremental transparency to the business
  • Enabling the use of data to drive business performance improvements to deliver growth and efficiencies
  • Responsible for overall data compliance, data governance and ensuring agreed processes are adhered to throughout the business
  • Responsible for the advancement of data capabilities and growing the value of new capability and a data driven culture within the business
  • Budget owner responsible for BMI and OVHs spend across all data workstreams / platforms
  • Effectively manage multiple stakeholders
  • Craft the team and deliver changes in line with business growth and efficiency requirements and for delivery of the future vision
  • Responsible overall for targets being met across data workstreams and shared business targets enabled by data
  • Decision maker for strategic, technical and Innovation plans including machine learning, data science, automation, etc.
  • Drives optimisation across all platforms; ensuring the best customer experience is delivered through provision of 7OA, UX, value add audits, data and insights, etc. essentially becoming the guardian for AFH’s online presence
  • Category Management leadership of multiple customers across our Foods categories , building a resource plan to support both the external and internal expectations
  • Take a category first approach to category management to understand the dynamics and levers for growth
  • Examine and share the drivers or missions, signposting demand trends and motivators
  • Able to articulate insights in a way relevant to the audience and remain agnostic of brand or product portfolio when contributing to the portfolio strategy – a truly customer centric approach
  • Build collaborative and independent relationships with key stakeholders (buyers, merchandisers, category planners) to become a trusted partner
  • Act independently of the business to share insightful agnostic to brand category insights that will inform strategies internally to drive winning behaviours and grow the category overall
  • Create Category proposals that meet wholesaler channel strategies and drive category growth and own the customer category growth strategy for defined strategic partners
  • Deliver Category range review recommendations which focus on the optimal assortment and merchandising supported by clear insight and rationale across priority customers
  • Be the expert in how we can win using category management in that customer/channel e.g. know key people to engage, right data to use, milestones and timings to hit, customer strategy on category management, channel trends and trajectory
  • Analysis and interpretation of multiple customer and shopper data sources to generate actionable insights on category risks and opportunities
  • Outline the retailers strategy to understand how Unilever can win.

  • Demonstrated ability in using data to drive business while communicating simply
  • Excellent understanding of data governance GDPR
  • Excellent project management and stakeholder management skills.
  • Relevant years of working experience in data
  • Proven track record within project management, change management, data strategy
  • Experience in complex stakeholder management including customer facing roles
  • Commercial acumen
  • Understanding of database code, applications, architecture and value

  • People management
  • Advanced presentation and engagement skills
  • Cross functional experience in, data, digital, marketing, and CD / sales
