Our key objectives as D&A are to:

Set the Unilever data strategy and lay the foundations to maximise the value of our data​. Deliver the connected Data Platform to accelerate access to integrated and trusted data at scale across the company for analytics and decisions​. Embed core data and analytics capabilities, leading to automation, AI, and Big Data to boost Unilever’s decision intelligence. Lead the Data and Analytics Culture to build a future-fit workforce that values and adopts data-intelligent decision-making across all levels.

This is an exciting new role in the Data & Analytics, which is tasked to deliver maximum value from data to drive business and organization performance.

Role Profile

This role will focus on leading a build team to develop Machine learning powered solutions specialised in Trade Promotion Analytics (TPX). TPX is intended to help the business make more effective decisions in the in the areas of Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Promotion planning within the iOPS program. The role will be expected to blend the expertise of Machine Learning, Technical Delivery, Data Analysis and Business Intelligence to develop and govern resilient, performant, cost effective solutions by design.

To be successful, the candidate should thrive in partnering with multi-disciplinary teams including data & technology teams, business teams and our build partners to drive the delivery of Analytics powered solutions on time and within budget. The candidate will also coordinate with the Demand & Planning Lead and the D&A Portfolio Management team to ensure resourcing is in place to deliver requirements within project timeframes & D&A SLAs.

Key Accountabilities

  • Combine the domain area expertise in Trade promotions and machine learning principles to design & manage the delivery workflow for the Solution Factory, including standards and templates where necessary.
  • Work with the project squad members to break requirements into sprints and project manage the sprint delivery.
  • Ensure third-party resources (or resources from the Data CoE) are in place to deliver planned sprints.
  • Manage third parties delivering work escalating issues to relevant stakeholders when appropriate.
  • Engage third parties & manage resources for delivery.
  • Monitor third-party delivery quality to ensure it meets with Solution Factory & Unilever standards and ensure suitable handover to XOPS.
  • Assist in the review & selection of third parties for delivery.
  • Co-Create the design of global TPX product roadmap incorporating market nuances partnering with D&A Product Owners.

All About You

Essential:

  • 12+ years of experience in Solutions & products delivery in multi-vendor environment
  • Bachelor's degree in a professional or management discipline
  • Experience and deep understanding of Agile/DevOps/ML development lifecycle from conception to delivery in Data & Analytics area
  • Delivery experience of delivering solutions in the trade promotions space.
  • Technical knowledge on Cloud based data and analytics tools and technologies, specifically Azure, Data Lake Store, SQL DW and Hadoop
  • Experience working with Power BI dashboard and large underlying data sets.
  • Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills to effectively run project communications and partner expectations at all levels of the organization.
  • Makes reasonable judgments quickly and adjusts thinking to assimilate new information.
  • Possesses highly effective analytical thinking to develop solutions, make recommendations, or propose action plans
  • Ability to learn new tools, technologies and process quickly
  • Self-motivated problem solver; able to thrive in a dynamic and customer-focused environment
  • Strong organizational and troubleshooting skills with precise attention to detail
  • Negotiation and influencing skills
  • IT knowledge to enable interactions with a multi-disciplinary IT team, including knowledge of architecture management, security management, quality management, capacity management, application development and testing, TOGAF, lifecycle management, service level management, IT operations
  • Experience of working in a global IT organization with multi-sourced and offshore environment
  • Experience and cultural awareness required to take a role in a globally distributed team
  • Shown track-record of delivering large and complex global projects
  • Good understanding of current and emerging Cloud technologies in Information management, and their potential business impact
  • Thorough understanding of applicable standards and procedures including technical, quality, safety and financial matters across all areas of service delivery

Desirable:

  • Professional certification (Agile methodologies, PMI, ITIL, CMI, Chartered IT Professional etc.) is a Plus
  • Domain expertise in Trade Promotion Analytics
  • Experience in supporting development of business cases for technology investment.
  • Working knowledge in any of D&A technicalities such Informatica, ADF, ADLS, Hadoop etc.x
