This is an exciting new role in the Data & Analytics, which is tasked to deliver maximum value from data to drive business and organization performance.

The UNIOPS D&A CD Analytics Product group helps the global Unilever CD business win with data, data science, and analytics in a way that leverages the close engagement/ relationship with CD leadership supported by a data science hub team so that they can solve for both large transformation programs and near term business problems.

The UNIOPS D&A CD Analytics Product group is composed of product managers, analytics managers and product activation managers who can: quickly understand the business context + problem, apply advanced mathematics and/or statistics to large data sets; and operate in cloud-based environments where data, models, and user interfaces reside in the same platforms-core technologies.

Role Profile

This role will focus on supporting a multi-functional team to develop and deploy, the algorithmic powered solution, Trade Promotion Analytics Suite of products (TPX) into Unilever markets. TPX is intended to help the business make more effective decisions in the in the areas of Net Revenue Management (NRM) and Promotion planning within the iOPS program. The role will be expected to blend the expertise of Product Management, Business Consultancy, Data Analysis and Business Intelligence to design, develop and govern the solutions. TPX is expected to deliver information and analytics capabilities for Customer Development teams.

Key Accountabilities

  • Own the market engagement, requirement gathering and translation into analytics requirements.
  • Leads the development of the user-journey golden template and local customization (includes KPIs calculations) prototypes.
  • Partner with the key stakeholders in the identification of data sources to fulfil requirements for analytical capabilities
  • To understand different project delivery methodologies (e.g.: waterfall, agile scrum) and determine the best approach for each demand. To drive and disseminate discipline on scope management.
  • Create and maintain project work plans for the data workstream in analytical projects.
  • Lead the delivery of the agreed capabilities, working with virtual/physical teams. To understand and apply D&A analytics framework, delivery model and best practice guidelines.
  • To work with other D&A teams and suppliers to estimate implementation time and costs for the analytical projects and to drive cost efficiencies
  • Leading meetings to present design proposal and recommendations to business partners and internal team members
  • Support transition to business as usual incl. embedding solution in business process & value tracking

Essential Experience

Key Requirements

  • Have Undergraduate or Master’s Degree level qualifications. Preferred (but not a requirement) disciplines include; Operations Research, Economics/Mathematics, Business Studies/MBA, Engineering, Computer Science. Overall experience of 3+ years preferred
  • Strong track record of working with business users to drive definition, alignment, and support for application of analytics and data to address complex business issues (e.g., centralization of promotion spending decisions)
  • Passion for empirical research and for answering hard questions with data
  • Ability to rapidly connect + match analytics and data products to business needs
    • Expert knowledge of an analysis tool such as Microsoft PowerBI, and Tableau
    • Working knowledge of an analysis tool such as R, Python, or PySpark.
    • Working knowledge to apply Microsoft Azure analytics product to develop scaled analytic models in the cloud
  • Ability to apply an agile analytic approach that allows for results at varying levels of precision
  • Ability to communicate complex quantitative insights in a precise, and actionable manner
