Tasks

As a Junior Pricing Actuary, you will work on various innovative topics related to the pricing of our products. In various projects, you will optimize one of the core levers for growth and profitability using modern methods and tools. Your tasks often have points of contact with other teams such as underwriting, sales, product or service. The main points include

• Further development and implementation of pricing taking into account the special direct market requirements
• Creation of stochastic models to forecast claims expenditure, premium income and customer behavior using internal and external data sources
• Exchange with international pricing colleagues on the latest developments and collaboration on the global Allianz Direct platform
• Expansion of market observation
• Independent responsibility of sub-areas or sub-projects

Requirements/Knowledge

• Very good degree in mathematics, statistics, data science or a comparable subject
• Proven ability to work independently and be willing to develop new topics 
• Experience in creating stochastic models, ideally also with machine learning methods (e.g. xgBoost, LGBM)
• Good knowledge of Python and SQL or other programs for modeling or data preparation and analysis is an advantage
• Strong communication and teamwork skills 
• Open and confident demeanor towards internal and external partners, including in an international context 
• Very good knowledge of German and English
