An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Data & Analytics Manager in our Engineering Inspection UK team. The main purpose of this role is to lead on and be a focal point for data activity within the engineering inspection division and primary conduit into the central data function.

You will work with central data functions to shape and deliver data strategy for Allianz Commercial, with a strong focus on being the ‘seed’ from which a strong functional capability is built as part of the ‘franchised’ target operating model. This role will also work closely with central analytics teams to define and deliver user cases for advance analytics/data science.

Please note: This is a hybrid role with regular travel to Guildford and London; typically around 2-3 days per week, additional travel to other office locations may be required.

Main Responsibilities Include:

  • Vision & Strategy - Evolve the Data Strategy for Engineering Inspection. Champion, promote and sell the Vision

  • Build foundations of self-sufficiency in business insights and data visualisation, aligned to the strategy and objectives of the inspection division

  • Represent engineering inspection area in key data topics and initiatives as well as developing and promoting business cases for activity through data prioritisation board

  • Ensures efficient management information demand & production process including rationalisation, continuous improvement and reporting life cycle management

  • Act as the appointed ‘data steward’ within the inspection division, responsible for alignment with data governance activities as a standing member of the data governance committee

  • Heads the development and application of Smart Technology data exploitation where appropriate to our products and services across commercial and personal lines.

What we are looking for:

  • Experience leading mixed teams of analytics, data and IT professionals to deliver insights, decision consultancy, analytics models, data products and solutions

  • Has successfully led and mentored teams of data and analytics professionals

  • Has led or made significant contribution to BI, Analytics and Data Management Change Programmes

  • Experience delivering business insight using business intelligence and analytics techniques

  • Senior Stakeholder Management - Excellent communication and presentation skills

  • Work experience as a data analyst or in a related field

  • Someone with experience of customer relationship management

  • A demonstrable eye for detail & excellent organisational skills

  • Demonstrated strong work ethic, results driven and able to hit deadlines

  • A good team player.

Qualifications:

  • Base level of numerical competence – bachelor’s degree in a numerate, scientific or computing subject (e.g. Computer Science, Business analytics, Data Science, Maths, Economics, Physics …)

  • Professional Qualifications are advantageous

  • Higher degree in Business Analytics, Operational Research, Applied Statistics or equivalent.
